There is a No Turn on Red sign at the intersection for those coming from Peeler wishing to turn right on Tilly Mill. It would be wonderful to have a green arrow right hand turn traffic signal while the traffic coming from the N. Peachtree intersection are turning left on Peeler rom Tilly Mill. I get that the field of view coming from Tilly Mill from PIB is limited but there is no reason to not let Peeler traffic turn right with a light while the Tilly Mill traffic turning left on Peeler are proceeding thru the intersection. With the improvements that have been made at N. Peachtree and Tilly Mill this improvement would only serve to further the smooth egress.

Truly typical......not my problem. Thank you Dunwoody for telling us to call someone who cares. As if you can't lift an effing finger and advise another dept.

Why can we not get some help on getting this homeowner to cut back the low brush so we can safely execute the intersection. Dunwoody says this isn't a problem.....does somebody from the City live at this address. It just doesn't make any sense to not deem the vegetation overgrowth as safe for public passage. I would like an engineer to meet me at this location and tell me why it is fine just like it is.

Where Heatherdale Ln ends at Coldstream Dr the overgrowth on the corner is like a forest. There is no way to see oncoming traffic unless you pull up into the intersection. The homeowner obviously is oblivious to the dangerous situation they are creating, their has been no attempt to cut back any of the obstruction. I hate to call for the homeowner to cut down the trees but they are a large part of the problem and public safety takes priority over trees that were planted too close to the intersection to begin with.
  • 2056-2130 Dunwoody Club Drive Sandy Springs, Georgia - Dunwoody
The traffic light at the intersection of Dunwoody Club Dr, Mount Vernon, and Saffron could use some tweaking on the timing. During the weekday you are held up by this signal light if you are coming from Jett Ferry on Dunwoody Club Dr. It stays green for an inordinate amount of time on the Mt Vernon side even after the pedestrian countdown has finished nearly 20-30 seconds before. Most traffic signals turn yellow after the countdown time reaches zero. Not the case at this intersection. I am certain some highly educated traffic engineer has set this timing for a reason but doubt said highly educated traffic engineer has to use this intersection nearly every day. It is actually quicker to cut through the Chase Bank/Sprouts parking lot, come out to Mt Vernon and turn left to avoid the extended and unnecessary timing of this traffic light. As I have watched and timed this light in the past it seemed to me that the timing was set like that for pedestrian traffic. Honestly, I am not there 24/7 but pedestrian traffic is virtually non existent at this intersection and I have never seen anyone cross the street at the longer crosswalk that crosses in front of Dunwoody Club Drive. All pedestrian traffic I have observed go across at Saffron or stay on the sidewalk as it veers down toward Kroger on the right. It seems the signal does run a little better on the weekend but during the week traffic gets backed up well past the Kroger entrance. Would appreciate it if engineers could take a look at this..

Womack Road And Tilly Mill Dunwoody, Georgia - Dunwoody
Those traveling southeast on Tilly Mill that turn Right onto Womack are faced with impeded vision from the overgrowth of Junipers that are in the Island there. I guess it must of been easier to add a Stop sign instead of a Yield where you merge onto Womack so the Juniper's wouldn't have to be trimmed . But now they are so high that it makes it difficult to see the traffic that is turning onto Womack from the opposite direction, even with a Stop sign there. I submit Traffic Engineers that if you had to use that merge everyday you would prefer a Yield sign as opposed to having to come to a complete stop every time . The only safety issue is the overgrowth blocking the view (whether you stop or yield). Every day, I stop, and there is, on most occasions, never any traffic coming. It is quicker, safer, and easier for me to actually go to Womack itself and make the right hand turn rather than use the right hand transverse. Please clear that island and change the Stop sign to a Yield.

Road surface marking/lane-striping is almost totally worn away on this section of Mt Vernon Rd. From Jett Ferry to Dunwoody Club intersection. Makes driving more difficult with a section that already has many dangerous entrances, exits and confluences.
