Trash can overloaded with construction debris was placed at the curb two weeks in a row for pickup by workers at 4104 Terrace. Since it is construction debris it was not collected by sanitation workers during trash collection the first time and returned to the house. It was placed out again Monday July 9th and still sits at the curb. The can is full of wood that has nails sticking out of it and the owner of the property has not come to properly dispose of it.

There is extensive work being done on this building (which sorely needs it) but no permits posted. I've been in the building and it was a borderline tear-down. There were previously code violations, and current work may be covering up dangerous conditions, L&I needs to inspect.

  • 4123 Terrace Philadelphia, PA - Manayunk
The stormwater inlet at the curb has collapsed, leaving a dangerous hole on the sidewalk that a pedestrian could fall into. The inlet is located next to the curb cut for the off street parking spot at 4123 Terrace. The problem is that the residents of 4123 frequently drive over the inlet cover to park two cars side by side in a parking pad that is only zoned as a single spot. Sewer inlet covers on the sidewalk are not designed to bear the weight of a vehicle. L&I ought to enforce the use of a single parking spot at this property or the city needs to install a bollard to prevent traffic over this area.
  • 1734-1738 Dickinson St. Philadelphia, PA - Newbold neighborhood
The sidewalk from 1734-1738 Dickinson and on the 18th St. side of the corner property is entirely blocked off with a chain link fence. There is no permit posted allowing the sidewalk to be blocked off. This makes the intersection dangerous for both motorists and pedestrians as people often cross the intersection on a diagonal because of the fence.

There had been a major pothole at this intersection last year which has since been patched, but the repair was badly done. The patch has sunk and is yet another hole that may cause damage to cars and could injure a cyclist.
  • 4100 Terrace St. Philadelphia, PA - Manayunk
At 2:45 AM the water main on the 4100 block of Terrace broke and continues to flood Terrace St. and Shurs Lane in 12 degree weather.
  • 1800 S. 16th St. Philadelphia, PA - Newbold neighborhood
After the demolition of the school building the lot was left bare and unfenced. Neighbors now use it for parking, and with the rain and snow it has turned into a muddy, messy eyesore.

SEPTA buses drive straight into traffic eastbound on Ridge Ave against the light. There are traffic lights here specifically to meter traffic and allow buses an opportunity to pull onto Ridge yet bus drivers routinely ignore the lights, stopping both lanes of traffic. Traffic heading east will have a green light yet the bus drivers expect cars to yield to buses out of their own sense of self-preservation. This causes backups during rush hour and is even more of a problem when there is snow or ice on the ground and traffic with the right of way cannot stop for the bus running the red light.
