please unsubscribe me. I do not live in this area,
people have been killed in New York by stray voltage under the street. If it varies, it could be the time of day, It is alarming and typical that the authorities tried to deflect this complaint and squash it. Why is it marked 'closed' above with no apparent resolution? They should go overboard to reassure pedestrians that it is truly looked into, the source searched out AND FIXED, not dismiss it or tell you to go elsewhere.
picture didn't rise in time.here it is. could be anyday.
25 oct 2012 what do you think? unchecked gridlock, impatience. Avoiding the Verrazano toll, but using residential streets for interstate traffic.
Oct 25th They still block the grid, the others HONK. this is half was across Manhattan, but they are blocked up trying to get into the tunnel. WHy? to save the toll as they only have to pay ONE WAY on the Verrazano bridge, so THIS WAY IS FREE! BUT we residents are paying for it, total aggravation. Why aren't the police at least getting income for the city from tickets?
25 Oct 2012, the drivers honk away and only the residents care. How would you like gridlock in your neighborhood, ALL DAY, while the police sit there too.
Oct 25, 2012, continuing, just as the grid gets blocked, and the police don't ticket.
The honking continues to upset and annoy the whole residential neighborhood; the police seem to do nothing about it. Here is a parked police car, two men inside, watching the grid get blocked, and the cross drivers honk away.
October 2012 continues, still. the cars block the crosswalks making it dangerous for pedestrians to cross, and the opposing cars honk as their light/turn passes and they can't move because of the selfish few. why cant the city attend to this?
October 2012 still a major problem in this area....the cars honk all afternoon, each one, many times, and they crowd the street, blocking the pedestrians dangerously.
October 2012, all Friday afternoon there those drivers were: honking. How can anyone imagine this is 'colcluded' - maybe if thy don't pay attention to the problem?
Sept 2012 they still block the grid and honk. no perceptible alteration in the noise level. the rare cop assigned occasionally takes the job seriously and does something; mostly they stand in the shade and do nothing, talk amongst themselves. what to do?
Sept 2012, these cars still honk incessantly, block the grid at every intersection, and are completely uncontrolled by the city. Rarely there are two traffic police directing traffic; even more rare are they assigned to give out tickets. Yesterday about 4 pm, with thick traffic across Broome,, I saw two uniformed policewomen standing in the shade of the building on the SW corner of Broome and Broadway, laughing and talking, paying no attention to the traffic. Were they assigned to it? who knows? were they on break, but still standing there? why? if they were told to watch the traffic even, this was not being done. This happens often: cops not doing something in groups, often at that corner, sometimes 4 of them, though in uniform. What are they doing?
sept. '12 we'll see.
sept 2012. what the picture shows: cars blocking the intersection. This blocking of the box, happens across all the north/south bound streets as the WEST bound traffic simply takes over the street, inching themselves towards the tunnel. So they complain, they HONK. they honk incessantly, and the noise reverberates for a 5 block radius. It is awful, and NOT FAIR that no one tries to stop this noise pollution. This is to show that blocking the box is also dangerous to others, blocks ambulance. this is only one shot, but it happens frequently.

sept 2012. tree trimmed. still others in neighborhood have been ripped - why? who?
sept '12. tree trimmed, not fixed. it has not grown a new branch. it looks diminished. unhappy. was anyone reprimanded?
sept 2012. No fix - still drivers honk incessantly.. no tickets given to dissuade them. How would you like this in your neighborhood?
sept 2012 not fixed; drivers blare the horn for long periods, annoying all in a 4 block radius, and no one stops them, or gives a fine. The city could earn a LOT of money by ticketing this...
