  • 403-445 Highway 282 Downingtown, Pennsylvania - Chester County
This is a bus stop for school children, located at the end of a private drive. It is extremely dangerous for the child, the bus and the other vehicles. The stop is around a blind curve so traffic coming up behind the bus cannot see that a bus is stopped and on several occassions drivers have had to slam on their brakes. There needs to be signage noting a bus stop (although this will not help much) and more importantly a change made for the bus pick up to make it more safe for the child, the bus, its passengers and approaching drivers.
  • 770 Dorlan Mill Road Downingtown, PA 19335, USA - Chester County

At the Dorlan Mill bridge, when approaching 282, there is not enough visibility when approaching the bridge to see if anyone is turning onto the bridge, especially since it is ONE LANE. This has caused many a vehicle stand-off, even verbal arguments.

On the Dorlan Mill side, there is no signage to note that is it is a ONE LANE bridge. On the 282 side there is a very large sign, however that also needs to be turned so that it's facing the drivers, not the woods. Many still try to fit two cars (which is/was a weight issue, and space issue.)

The bridge of course is currently under construction. There is no indication of it being 1 or 2 lanes when it re-opens (although, it does not look much wider than before). If it remains a one lane bridge then it must be better marked for the safety of all.

(Comments about whether two cars fit are not necessary as one lane bridges are often made so for weight and safety, not space.)
