East Shore Park - East Shore
East Shore Park is a mess. There is overflowing garbage, graffiti on all the dugouts, platforms of exploded fireworks, broken chains on the entrances, weedy tennis courts... Can the city please do something about this?

73 Pope St New Haven CT 06512, United States - East Shore
The sidewalk next to Nathan Hale school is covered in ice and snow. The grounds crew only cleared the first half of the school's sidewalk on Pope Street. They frequently ignore all snow removal and other landscaping needs beyond the gate to the schoolyard.

Wires from nearby pole at 38 Pope are all tangled and caught in tree.

The sidewalk running the length of the seawall has not been shoveled or plowed after the recent storms. I work in East Rock, and the parks dept uses a Bobcat to maintain the park-side sidewalk on Orange Street several times a week. There's no reason why this sidewalk shouldn't have been done.

51 Pope St East Haven, CT, 06512, USA - East Shore
This is for Pope Street in New Haven, although the address says East Haven. A wire was pulled by a large truck, and it is now hanging low across the street running from 51 Pope St. across the road to the space between 54 and 58 Pope. Other large trucks are likely to get caught in it. It's unclear what kind of wire it is (electric, phone/cable, etc.). Although this is a no-thru trucks block, large trucks still speed down this block all the time.
  • Pope St East Haven, CT, 06512, USA - East Shore

This is for Pope Street in New Haven, not in East Haven--we share the same zip.

Public Works sent an email this week to inform residents that all trash and recycling would be pushed back one day due to Monday's holiday. For our area, that means trash and recycling would be picked up on Saturday instead of Friday. However, this morning trash was picked up on our street, and many residents did not put out their garbage for pick up. Will trash be picked up again tomorrow?

  • Fort Hale Rd & Townsend Ave East Haven, CT, 06512, USA - East Shore
For the past two weekends, cars have been racing on Townsend Avenue and surrounding streets late at night and into the early mornings.

51 Pope St New Haven 06512, United States - East Shore
This week, several limbs have fallen from this tree. It is an ash tree that was scheduled to be removed a year ago. In the meantime, cars, cyclists, pedestrians, and children walking to and from Nathan Hale school are at risk of injury from the branches that continue to fall.
  • Willow St & Orange St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - East Rock
A huge tree is blocking the traffic signal for northbound traffic on Orange Street. I drive this way every day, and I am aware that the light is there. Northbound traffic--especially those unfamiliar to the area--will not see a red light there until it's too late.
  • 475 Townsend Ave New Haven 06512, United States - East Shore
Pillar at the intersection of Woodward and Townsend is (again) damaged. Could be due to coach buses and trucks that use the road despite no thru warning.

51 Pope St New Haven, CT 06512, USA - East Shore
Several large, dead branches on tree belt overhang sidewalk, street, and a driveway. Please remove. High pedestrian traffic under tree and many young children play in the area.

Fort Hale Rd And Townsend Ave New Haven, Connecticut - East Shore
The head of a water main pipe is sticking out of a large hole at this intersection. Very hazardous--especially to motorcyclists.
  • Pope Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Shore
All American Waste garbage truck was driving down this small, one-way block at an extremely high rate of speed--way too fast for me to get the plate #. There are several children and elderly people who live on the block. They would not have stood a chance if they were trying to cross the street as this truck came along.

Pope Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Shore
Trees all along this street are in need of trimming, especially up by the school. There are several trees with dangerous, dead limbs that hover over the school playground and sidewalk. Each rainstorm brings some down, and it's only a matter of time before one falls on a student or parent heading into the building or out on the playground. There is also a tree in front of 51 Pope that constantly drops big branches during storms. City refused to take it down a few years ago. It is not a healthy tree and should come down soon. There are several children who live right in the vicinity of this tree, and it is again only a matter of time before one gets hit by a falling branch.
  • Church Street Extension And Sargent Drive New Haven, Connecticut - Long Wharf
The bus stop shelter at the corner of Church Street Ext. and Sargent Drive is smashed. There is glass everywhere around it, including the street.
  • Townsend Avenue New Haven, CT - East Shore

There has been a silver/grey racing motorcycle driving at an extremely high rate of speed on Townsend in recent days. The bike has wider tires than normal, and on occasion the driver has a female passenger on the back. Yesterday, the driver sped between both directions of traffic in excess of 60mph, nearly clipping my side mirror. My two children were in the car and they were frightened. I could not get a plate number because the motorcycle was traveling so fast. Ahead of us, it passed between a southbound school bus and northbound cars at a high rate of speed, nearly clipping the school bus.

I hope our district manager and beat officers take note of this "cool guy" from the Cove who is risking his life, the life of his passenger and the safety of drivers and pedestrians in the area. No driver or pedestrian has a chance to safely get out of this biker's way.

  • Townsend And Pope New Haven, Connecticut - East Shore
The corner, which is the property of Nathan Hale School, is often littered with garbage. Neighborhood residents, including Nathan Hale students, often clean up the trash on the weekends, only to have the property littered again within a week. Since this is a city property, is it possible to get a trash can put on this corner? It may not make it perfect, but it might inspire more people to just pick up and toss any random garbage they see as it appears.
  • 20-24 Fort Hale Park Road New Haven, Connecticut - East Shore
There is a very deep pothole in the right lane as you approach Townsend. Cars dodge it by moving left into oncoming traffic. Very dangerous for motorcyclists, especially at night.
  • Woodward And Fort Hale New Haven, CT - East Shore
The property on the southern corner of Fort Hale Road is a mess. The yard, deck and driveway are full of garbage, including a broken trampoline. The house might be in foreclosure with renters currently residing there. The sidewalk was never shoveled during the blizzard, and it is always covered in leaves and garbage.
  • Morse And Woodward New Haven, CT - East Shore
On Morse, right near the stop sign at Woodward, there is a missing cover from a large hole/drain. Probably a water co. hole? Regardless, it's a pretty large, deep hole. There is heavy pedestrian traffic here, especially with dogs. Someone's foot is going to go right down into that thing when they're crossing the street.
