  • Penn Court And Flatbush Avenue Kingston, New York - Kingston
Some years ago someone had the "bright idea" of putting a SPEED BUMP at the corner of Penn Court and Flatbush Avenue. This location is particularly dangerous because of traffic coming down the hill on Flatbush Ave. to this BLIND INTERSECTION, tending to speed up coming DOWN the hill and blind on account of having to come around a fairly sharp curve. A SPEED BUMP is dangerous for traffic entering Penn Court and leaving Penn Court, unnecessary, and only makes an inherently dangerous condition WORSE. This is a city street and thus a city responsibility to repair. Complaints were made prior to the repaving of Flatbush Ave., which on some levels seemed as if it would have been an ideal time to effect this repair, but nothing was done at the time. It is three months since officially filing with the city clerk's office on this.
  • Albany Avenue Near Manor Ave. Kingston/Ulster, NY - Kingston
Deep holes are evident in the southband lane and would, if a vehicle hit them, do considerable damage thereto. Perhaps this time--on a major thoroughfare in Kingston--it will not take nearly two years to fix properly?
  • 207 Albany Avenue Kingston, NY - Kingston
Needs some fill-in in southbound side on the right, probably four inches or so in length and less in width.
The job was conceived very well, with gravel placed first so that cars travelling back and forth would mat it down, then with two coats of blacktop. However on the right side it needs just a little bit more as someone was just a bit careless with that part.
  • 101 Elmendorf St. Kingston, NY - Kingston
Some time ago Elmendorf St. was raised over the level of the curbs. With heavy rains this year this led to flooding of this side of the street, which apparently affected a water pipe at the residence causing it to have to be replaced. The sidewalk area is dug up and is a mess, but this issue was caused by the city building the road up over the level of the sidewalks. The only fix would appear to be to raise the sidewalk levels commensurate with the road or to fix the roadway while lowering its level at the same time.
  • Albany Ave. Between Tremper And Smith Avenues Southbound Lane - Kingston
There is a small hole in the road in the southbound lane near the crosswalk to St. John's Church that exposes a large hole underneath;therefore IMMEDIATE attention seems to be required for this spot lest the spot SOON become a veritable SINKHOLE!
