Right Turn Only lanes - Cambridge @ Katella; The City of Orange has painted the BIKE LANE on the right edge of the RIGHT TURN ONLY LANE, leading bicyclists to go straight on across Katella in conflict with right turning vehicles, or worse, to turn left onto Katella from the right curb lane. BIKE LANE should be dashed out BEFORE the right turn only lane begins, and extend between the split through & right turn lanes to facilitate bicyclists going straight. Bikes turning right can use the right turn only lane as any vehicle. Bikes going straight should NOT be using the right turn only lane. Newport and Lake Forest facilitate proper bicycle lane position with extending the BIKE LANE like this, and in addition, post a sign that says "BEGIN RIGHT TURN LANE YIELD TO BIKES" alerting motorists that they are crossing a Class 2 Bike Lane as they approach Katella.

The Portola Side Path Bikeway used to follow Portola here - but the City of Irvine allowed the Irvine Company to tear up the side path and put a right turn pocket into their development. There wis no accommodation for safely managing 2 way bicycle traffic across a free right turn from EB Portola.

Some how the City of Irvine allowed the Pavilion Park neighborhood to build a dead end bike way that does NOT connect to homes just west of their neighborhood. Perfectly good bikeway to no where...

Right Turn Only lane - EB Waterworks to SB Discovery; The City of Irvine has painted the bike lane on the right edge of the right turn pocket, leading bicyclists to go straight on Waterworks across Discovery, or worse, turn left onto NB Discovery from the right curb lane, right of right turning vehicles. Bike lane should be dashed out BEFORE the right turn only lane begins, and / or extend between the split left & right turn lanes to facilitate bicyclists going straight. Bikes turning right can use the right turn only lane as any vehicle. Bikes going straight should NOT be using the right turn only lane.

Right Turn pocket - WB Waterworks to NB Sand Canyon; The City of Irvine has painted the bike lane on the right edge of the right turn only lane, leading bicyclists to go straight on Barranca, or worse, turn left on Sand Canyon from the right curb lane. Bike lane should be dashed out BEFORE the right turn only lane begins, and / or extend between the split left & right turn lanes to facilitate bicyclists going straight. Bikes turning right can use the right turn only lane as any vehicle. Bikes going straight should NOT be mislead into using the right turn only lane.

Right Turn pocket - WB Barranca to NB Sand Canyon; The City of Irvine has painted the bike lane on the right edge of the right turn pocket, leading bicyclists to go straight on Barranca, or worse, turn left on Sand Canyon from the right curb lane. Bike lane should be dashed out BEFORE the right turn only lane begins, and / or extend between the split left & right turn lanes to facilitate bicyclists going straight. Bikes turning right can use the right turn only lane as any vehicle. Bikes going straight should NOT be using the right turn only lane.

Right Turn pocket - EB Campus to SB Turtle Rock Dr; The City of Irvine has painted the bike lane on the right edge of the right turn pocket, leading bicyclists to go straight to bike paths across Turtle Rock Drive, or worse, turn left on Turtle Rock Drive from the right curb lane. Bike lane should be dashed out BEFORE the right turn only lane begins, and / or extend between the split left & right turn lanes to facilitate bicyclists going straight to bikeway or turning left. Bikes turning right can use the right turn only lane as any vehicle.

Right Turn pocket - SB Yale to WBWest Yale Loop; The City of Irvine has painted the bike lane on the right edge of the right turn pocket, leading bicyclists to go straight to bike paths by lake, or worse, turn left on Yale Loop. Bike lane should be dashed out BEFORE the right turn only lane begins, and / or extend between the split left & right turn lanes to facilitate bicyclists going straight to bikeway or left to East Yale Loop. Bikes turning right can use the right turn lane as any other vehicle.

In the Alton Side Path / Pacific Electric Bike Path there is a square storm drain - in the pathway - that has grates parallel to travel & wide enough to catch a narrow tire. Should be placed perpendicular to travel for safety standards.

Tustin is putting Tustin Ranch bridge over Edinger.
Rather than reducing 3 lanes of traffic to 2, and accommodating pedestrians and cyclists, the bike lane is CLOSED and bikes are required to merge into 45 MPH vehicle traffic. This solution is on both east bound and west bound sides. A sign tells pedestrians that they can not use Edinger. That has to be illegal, and there is no choice but turn back to Redhill or Harvard. There are no detour signs warning at Redhill or Harvard telling pedestrians to detour MILES around Edinger closure and no reasonable detour is provided, so of course pedestrians will walk in the street anyway or on the railroad right of way on the west bound side rather than retreat & get to Walnut or Dyer, the two parallel options .

Green steel utility box (SCE? Sprinkler control?) is in the down hill road way of the JOST side path - could have hazard stripes painted around it on ground and reflective tape on corners

Bike Lane stripe is broken to allow motorists to enter & turn right onto toll road OFF RAMP

Trail has gone under Barranca for years - Put a temporary gate / closure North of here to block the Peters Canyon Trail until open to Warner - but stop making riders go west on the wrong side of Barranca from Lower Peters Canyon trail / San Diego Creek Trail !

Sign to Bike Trail => posted PAST the curb cut to get on the new side path! Should be back where Bike Lane Ends sign was posted

Sign says side walk ends - but it obviously continues half way to Jeffrey & then the shoulder is walkable / bike-able - so why make people go around a sign in the way or walk in the street? or worse - ride in the street on wrong side - to get to the Hicks Canyon Trail ?
