    Alden Ave & Chapel St New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Westville
    The Chapel-Alden intersection continues to be dangerous. There are two pedestrian cross walks on Chapel at the intersection. One of them has a white sign in the crosswalk with a stop sign clearly showing that cars must stop for people in the crosswalk. The other crosswalk does not. Cars barreling down Chapel from Forrest blow thru this unsigned crosswalk — I was almost hit twice tonight while walking my dogs. There needs to be a white stop sign in the crosswalk (exactly like in the other crosswalk). People don’t know what the yellow crosswalk signs mean — they don’t remember driver’s ed. People do know what a red stop sign means. Please put a white “stop for pedestrians” sign in the crosswalk. Thank you.

    The new “stop for pedestrians in crosswalk” sign placed in the crosswalk 2-3 weeks ago has been removed and needs to be replaced. I requested the sign, the city put one in the crosswalk, and then the sign was removed/stolen. My request was marked closed. I responded that the sign was gone and a replacement sign was needed. My initial request is no longer posted. Please replace the sign. This request/case is not closed. Thank you.

    Chapel St & Alden Ave New Haven, Connecticut, 06515 - Westville
    The Pedestrian crossing signs (says something like car must stop when pedestrian is in crosswalk) that used to be in the middle of the Chapel St crosswalk at the intersection with Alden need to be replaced. They were hit or removed a while ago. Cars blow thru that intersection when people are starting to walk across the crosswalk. It’s dangerous. Thank you.

    Yale Ave & Chapel St New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Westville
    Hi. The intersection at Yale and Chapel is dangerous. I was almost hit twice today when I was driving on Chapel thru the intersection. Cars on Yale (that have the blinking red) stopped for a second and then proceeded straight thru the intersection right in front of me. I had to slam on my breaks. The cars on Yale don’t know the cars traveling on Chapel don’t have to stop. The small signs posted below the stop signs on Yale are barely visible to drivers looking at the flashing stop light. There need to be signs hanging below the stop light in both directions so the drivers on Yale know drivers on Chapel don’t have to stop. PLEASE do this. It seems to be an inexpensive “fix” for a dangerous intersection.

    The intersection at Alden Ave and Chapel St continues to be dangerous. I had 2 mere misses this week. Drivers on Alden stop briefly and then proceed through the intersection — seemingly assuming it is a 4-way stop. The signs on Alden should have a “2-Way Only” sign (or something similar) added below the “Stop” sign. This intersection has been a problem for a long time. Let’s get it fixed. Thanks.
