They still havent painted the shared road mark through East Rock. I was struck with an idea on my ride home yesterday, what if they closed one lane for biking/ running/ walking (painted it green so there is no confusion) and turned the other lane into a one way street. A truly bold move would be to have have one of those traffic lights with a red X and green O to control which direction the traffic flows. In the morning Farnam Dr traffic would flow from Hamden to New Haven and in the afternoon it would reverse going from New Haven to Hamden. This would avoid any disruption in rush hour/ commuter traffic while keeping the road safe for everyone else.

I'm going to post this idea on the "questions" page to get a conversation going.

I saw this on my morning commute, thanks for reporting! I hope this was a clean up crew leaving the bags to get picked up later. It's hard to believe someone would actually dump their trash on the side of the street in East Rock.

Thanks for the info Benyamin
