Aggravated by the Roads

  • 2566 Albany Street Schenectady, New York - Schenectady
Albany St between Jackson Ave and Wilson, specifically, has 2 man hole covers that sit well below the road surface. I drive that road everyday, (as do many other people) and you have to straddle the covers or get jarred. Also, the intersection of Jackson Ave and Albany St is almost wavy. I don't know how else to describe it. It's like there's ruts in the road where so many vehicles have driven. Any way to smooth it out? I know potholes on that stretch of road were filled in earlier this year, and that help, but that road has some other serious issues that need attention.
  • 99 Sheridan Avenue Schenectady, New York - Schenectady
There is a large pothole that you have to straddle to avoid on Sheridan Ave right off of Gerling. The rest of the intersection is deteriorating as well, so when it rains, and all the holes are filled with water, it's hard to know where to drive to avoid them.
  • 1301-1445 Gerling Street Schenectady, New York - Schenectady
Gerling from Rosa Rd east to McClellan is in horrible disrepair. There's often a bus parked at the bus stop on the corner of Gerling and Sheridan, so if a car is coming west they have to go into the east-bound lane to avoid it. Any east-bound cars have to go to the shoulder to avoid getting hit, and the shoulders are in horrible condition.
