    Please install crosswalks at the intersection of Farm Gate Road and Western Boulevard.

    The intersection has a four (4) way stop (signs) that most people do not stop at. This makes it highly unsafe for pedestrians to cross. Please fix this.

    According to the arrows, if you are coming up Farm Gate Road toward the Bacarra Apartments, you can only turn right or left at the intersection. Please paint a straight arrow in one of the lanes.

  • Cary Towne Boulevard Speed Limit Signs Raleigh, North Carolina - West

    There are no speed limit signs on Cary Towne Boulevard when coming from Western Boulevard/Farm Gate Road.

    The speed limit on Farm Gate Road is 30 mph. After turning left onto Cary Towne Boulevard there isn't a speed limit sign until you get to the "road to no where", then there is a 45 mph sign.
    If you aren't familiar with the area, you would assume that the speed limit remains 30 mph.

    Cars exiting I40 at exits 291 east and west have no indication as to the speed limit. There used to be a 45 mph speed limit sign on Cary Towne Boulevard right where the bridge crosses I40, but is was removed.

    Please install speed limit signs where the east and west exit ramps merge with Cary Towne Boulevard.

    My next door neighbor's tree fell on my fence during the last snow storm. The neighbor has been home and there have been nice days when they could have removed it and they haven't. I've had run-ins with this neighbor in the past and I have had to call the police on them several times.

    At the intersection of Farm Gate Road, Western Blvd, and Cary Towne Blvd, there is no arrow indicating you can go straight from Farm Gate Road into the Bacarra Apartments. One lane is indicated left turn only, the other is indicated right turn only. I believe the right turn lane should also include the straight arrow.

    Speeding

    The speed limit on Farm Gate Road is posted at 30 MPH. Entering Farm Gate Road from Buck Jones Road there is a speed limit sign within a block of that intersection; although most people ignore it.

    The real problem is when you come from Cary Towne Blvd and turn right onto Farm Gate Road. The last speed limit sign posted is on Cary Towne Blvd, which is 45 MPH. After turning right onto Farm Gate Road cars continue to go 45 MPH. The first 30 MPH speed limit sign is a ways down the road.

    Would you please post a 30 MPH sign closer to the intersection with Cary Towne Blvd.

    Also, there used to be a sign on Cary Towne Blvd, right after crossing the bridge over I40, that said something like "City of Raleigh, speed limit 35 unless otherwise posted." That sign needs to be put back.

    Vehicles failing to stop at the intersection of Cary Towne Blvd, Farm Gate Rd, and Western Blvd. The addition of a left turn lane on Cary Towne Blvd that turns into the Bacarra Apartments paved over the stop line. Vehicles in that lane are not stopping. Pretty much everyone, from all four directions run the stop signs.

    Last year I did a See, Click, Fix on this issue and was told by the city that Cary Towne Blvd is the DOT's jurisdiction. I contacted DOT through their online system and was sent an email with with a reference number. Not seeing any fixes, I checked the reference number on the DOT site a few months later and the number came back as invalid.

    It really shouldn't matter who has jurisdiction, this is a major problem that needs to be fixed. Posting a police car at the intersection only puts people on their best behavior because the car sits out in the open where they can see it. Unless he sits there every day, people will continue to run the stop signs.

    While I'm on my soap box, please put in crosswalks at that intersection, too.

    Due to the widening project on Buck Jones Road the Crepe Myrtle trees on the corner of this property were cut down. Now, they have grown back and are obstructing the view of cars coming down Buck Jones Road.

    The previous owner of this property cut all of the grass. Now there is a swatch of grass that fronts Buck Jones Road that is not being cut.

    The intersection of Cary Towne Blvd, Farm Gate Road, and Western Blvd was somewhat repaved when the Barcarra Apartments were built. A left turn lane was added on Cary Towne Blvd, but they never repainted the stop line. Cars are constantly running the stop sign.

    The vegetation could also use a good cut back.

    At the intersection of Buck Jones Road and Jones Franklin Road the lines on the Buck Jones side have worn off.

    Shrub, bushes, etc. have over grown the side walk.

    Also, a vehicle stopped at the corner of Harvest Lane and Farm Gate Road have tree branches blocking the view of vehicles coming down the hill from the right.
