  • 601-607 John Wright Drive Northwest Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
For the past week or two, the crosswalk on the west side of the intersection of John Wright/Holmes has been activating without any button presses. As you would expect, this results in an extremely long red light for traffic on Holmes Ave. The crosswalk button on the SW side of the intersection is blinking rapidly, perhaps indicating some kind of error. Would you please investigate the issue and see what can be done to prevent unnecessarily long cycles? Thanks.

Okay, Traffic Engineering. I know you can do better than this. Byrd Spring and Memorial Parkway intersection. In times of low traffic (especially at night), it doesn't make sense that Byrd Spring gets a green light when there are absolutely no cars on Byrd Spring. Every time I drive home past rush hour, I get stopped at this light. I understand there is road work going on in the area, but can you at least put up some kind of temporary sensors to be able to program this light to respond to traffic properly? I'm sure a lot of people would agree with this.

Within the past year, this light seems like it was reprogrammed and is creating a dangerous situation for drivers exiting 565 at the Oakwood exit.

Traffic exiting 565-E at Oakwood have less space to stop because traffic is always backed up father than it should be. The reason: the green light is short, and drivers' reaction times are not fast enough for a short light to be effective. It could be increased by just a few seconds and move a lot more traffic because only about 5 cars are going through each cycle now (even less than that with large vehicles).

Note: I've only observed this Monday through Friday between 7:40 and 8:10 am, so please take that into consideration.

  • 8515 Whitesburg Dr S Huntsville, AL 35802, USA - Huntsville
When turning right onto Whitesburg from Memorial Parkway SB, there are two signs that seem to contradict each other and cause more traffic in the morning than necessary. On the right side of the right turn lane, there is a yield sign. However, on the left side, there is a "you have your own lane" sign. In this case, you do have your own lane when turning right, so the yield sign confuses some drivers and causes them to stop until all traffic passes.

Light is almost completely out. Occasionally, the light might be on, but it's almost always out.

These roads are crap. I have to drive them every day to get to the student parking lot at my school (New Century). I'd say repave them, but I know this area isn't really a priority. If you could at least repave Forrest Cir and smooth out the transition between it and Christian Ln, I'll be happy.

The light is about to die. Sometimes it flickers, and now it's almost completely off.

This light needs to be reprogrammed. Traffic turning left into Weatherly from Blanda has to wait a few minutes, even when there is almost no traffic on Weatherly.
