  • 98th Ave @ Empire Rd. Oakland, California - Columbia Gardens
At the 2 joints of the concrete bridge that crosses the creek on 98th Ave. right before Empire Road, the asphalt has heaved up where it meets the concrete. This causes a loud thump when driving over it and will eventually damage the suspension of vehicles driving over them. This is in the 2 eastbound lanes, right before coming to Empire Road on your right. I have complained about this over 6 months ago, and nothing was ever done.

98th Ave. Near San Leandro St. Oakland, California - North Stonehurst
There is a small sinkhole in the asphalt, right before the train tracks, in the right lane, just east of San Leandro St. It seems to be getting deeper every day.
  • 98th Ave. Oakland, California - Columbia Gardens
While traveling east on 98th Ave., heading towards the southbound entrance to 880, a few hundred feet before Empire Road, in both right hand lanes, there are asphalt upheavals where the concrete road surface meets the asphalt surface. This causes a loud noise when hitting this large bump. Please address this issue.
  • San Leandro St. Oakland, California - San Leandro
The road surface in the tunnel approximately a half mile south of 98th Ave. is very rough, in both directions. It's missing sections of asphalt on both sides of this tunnel, also. I'm afraid this is going to damage the suspension on my car. Thanks in advance for looking into this.

There is a huge swell of asphalt in the 2 right hand lanes, on Westbound 98th Ave., approximately 1/4 mile from 880, which causes a huge bump when driven over. This is very damaging to vehicle front suspensions. It appears to be at the concrete overpass which crosses a small creek, right before the entrance to the car rental business on the right. It has been this way for years. I don't know why nobody has complained about this before. Apparently it was caused by the asphalt expanding where it butts up against the concrete road surface. The left lane is much smoother.
