There are 2 sink holes forming at a storm drain curb inlet in the new portion of Capital Blvd. If you are driving inbound, South, on Capital Boulevard it is at the third storm drain on the left after you pass underneath the Wade Avenue Bridge. The large one may be 8" deep.

I'm concerned about the structure of this 2nd floor porch. It looks like the beam may be failing.

A new water meter was just installed in the sidewalk in front of wiley elementary school. There is concrete dust from cutting the sidewalk all over the stone wall. The new curb is lower than the existing curb on either side. The planting strip is filled with red clay not top soil for replanting. The surface is uneven and causes a trip hazard. I have close up photos of several of the problems if you would like me to email them to you.

301 Saint Mary'S Street Raleigh, North Carolina - Hillsborough
This concerns the sidewalk on the west side of St. Mary's Street between College Place and Calvin (the Wiley elementary school frontage.) The "planting strip" between the sidewalk and the back of curb is only about 8-10 inches wide. Storm drainage along this portion of the street is sheet flow on the surface, and the water has washed all the dirt out of the planting strip making it a trip hazard. The PTA has discussed the problem and we do not think that we would be able to plant in the strip without the storm water washing away our efforts. A small portion of the strip has been filled in with concrete (about 10 feet south and 40 feet north of W. Jones street) but we don't know when this was done or by whom. This makes the sidewalk feel safer, and eliminates the trip hazard. Would it be possible for the City to fill in the rest of the planting strip between College Place and Calvin with concrete?
