A plot of gutted / razed land on the north side of Essex between Van Vorst & Warren is poorly barricaded from a trafficked residential sidewalk. There is no true fence barricading the sidewalk from the huge excavated pit; it is instead just orange plastic mesh, one side of which is held up by a huge steel plank that is simply leaned against the wall of the adjacent property's building.

A 2-3 foot wide hole that leads down to the pit is actually not even fenced in 5"(the mesh does not fence it in).

The site needs to be better barricaded. I assume there are rules around this? If not, please at least check it out and consider the risk to kids in the area.
