There are tags on the side facing Mortson Street and the side facing Park Terrace.
  • 2-46 Mortson St Hartford, CT - Frog Hollow
A plate used to cover wires has been missing for over a month now. The result is a deep hole that someone could trip over. This is located in the wide end of sidewalk toward the corner of Mortson Street and Putnam.
  • 926 Park St Hartford, CT - Frog Hollow
Part of the signal has been physically destroyed at the Northeast corner, making it impossible to get a pedestrian walk light at this busy intersection. It has already been broken for several weeks.

In the CT State Dept of Mental Health driveway there is a sinkhole that could seriously damage a vehicle. There's really no warning that it is there and several people have driven into it so far. It's been there for weeks. The State needs to take responsibility and repair this. It's several feet wide and at least a foot deep.
  • Pearl Street And Trumbull Street Hartford, CT - Downtown
If walking North on Trumbull Street, the cross signal button (on the West side of street) does not seem to do anything.

  • 131-133 Putnam Street Hartford, CT - Frog Hollow
Another absentee landlord has not maintained the sidewalk on his property. This occupies the corner of Mortson Street and Putnam Street and receives a lot of foot traffic due to proximity to elementary school. There is glare ice that shows no attempt to either remove it nor salt/sand it.
  • 387 Capitol Avenue Hartford, CT - Frog Hollow
This property has not been shoveled, sanded, or salted all season. There is a monster pile of snow blocking the sidewalk. The driveway is a sheet of ice. This is not a new condition, but an ongoing one. The attached photo was taken today, 2/10/11.
  • 137-195 Putnam St Hartford, CT 06106, USA - Frog Hollow
The security guard outside of Burns Elementary appears to do nothing to maintain the safety of the area. People walk on and off school grounds without being stopped to ask about their purpose for being there.
  • 71-105 Park Terrace Hartford, CT 06106, USA - Frog Hollow
There are political signs covering street signs on Park Terrace near Russ Street. I do not mean they are just tacked to the posts...they are blocking the actual signs.
  • 764 Park St Hartford, CT 06106, USA - Frog Hollow

The gymnasium part of St. Anne's has a fresh batch of graffiti on the side facing Park Street. There has long been some on it, but in recent days a significant more has been added. It's not the type of work that remotely fits into the category of art and should probably be removed.

Somewhat related -- the gymnasium part of the building is somewhat of an eyesore, as there is just this swath of bleak concrete. Maybe the church could add some planters filled with flowers and plants to this side. It'd make the building look less vacant and probably less appealing as a target for vandals.

update: as of January 2011 the graffiti is still present

Last week some jerk set fire to two outdoor toilets in Bushnell Park -- one near the stage and one near the carousel. These are both very visible. Guess what? The remnants of these fires are still in the park. They look and smell nasty. I don't even want to think about how unsanitary this is.

Someone needs to clean up this mess!

As much as I might believe that tetanus helps children build character, I'm pretty sure that 4 out of 5 mothers would disagree with me.

There is a rather large, sharp, pointy, rusted out piece of equipment on the playground in Bushnell Park next to the carousel. Can we get this either repaired or covered? If not for the kiddies, at least so that the City does not end up getting sued. My taxes are high enough, thanks.

  • Ford And Pearl St. Hartford, CT 06103, USA - Downtown

When crossing Ford to Pearl from Bushnell Park and vice versa there is no pedestrian signal.

At certain times of day this is especially dangerous due to high traffic volume and vehicle speed.
