Gigantic rats can be heard in the rear of the abandoned General Insulation Building and the scrap yard next door. We can bait all the sewers and seal every trash can, and it won't help, because this is where the rats are coming from. The property owner does nothing to maintain the property or to do any sort of pest control.

Illegal dumping is ongoing in front of this building. In the past week, household bathroom items, dirty diapers, and garbage from cars has been left in front of this building. Weeds are overgrown and people are treating the area as a dump, even though there are houses next door and the new park across the street. We could use No Littering signs and some help from the landlord in maintaining the property.

DCR sidewalk along McGrath from Cross st to Alston St remains covered in snow, forcing pedestrians into traffic. This is another case of state property within city limits not being maintained, putting citizen lives at risk through negligence.

Crosswalks across 28 are not passable. The state does not maintain any of its property in Somerville, putting pedestrian lives at risk.

We NEED stepped up traffic enforcement at the crosswalk across Rte 38 behind Stop & Shop, by city or state police or both. I was almost hit there twice today, once by a pickup truck whose driver accelerated deliberately at me, once by a car that sped around a stopped vehicle. Very few drivers yield to pedestrians here, while other drivers actively endanger people crossing the street, including families. This crosswalk is the only way for pedestrians to get to Assembly Square from the rest of Somerville, and it's completely unsafe.
