Keeping an Eye Out

  • 401 2nd Ave Albany, New York, 12209 - Delaware Avenue
This property is a constant problem. Between the yard overgrowth and the regular dumping of trash in the front yard, it's extremely unpleasant to live next door.

All up and down 2nd Ave, yard waste bags have sat since last Sunday night. Tomorrow will be one week since yard waste and bags have sat out in the rain which causes a problem with bags breaking. Why hasn't it been picked up by the city?

Again, these folks are unloading all sorts of trash including electronics curbside. They still have not cleaned up all the broken glass in the yard. I had to sweep it up off the sidewalk last time just to make sure our neighbors and kids didn’t end up getting hurt. NO ACTION from the city.

34 Marshall St Albany, NY, 12209, USA - Delaware Avenue
Construction debris from 34 Marshall St was placed curbside in front of 36 Marshall St. A city employee notified one of the occupants at 36 Marshall that the owner of 36 would be billed for the removal. This is a travesty. The owners of 34 Marshall St did a massive clean out and dumped it in front of neighboring property. We know this both because it as witness AND because this property was vacant and untended for a long time. In spite of complaints to the city regarding the condition of the property over the last years it was vacant, no action was taken. NOW, when they dump garbage in front of the neighbor's house the city blames the responsible homeowner who has been taking care of his property all along. GET IT TOGETHER and to after the right people. 34 MARSHALL ST OWNER, Tenitia Perrin-Goldman!! More absentee owners blaming local people for the troubles. And the city falling for it because we are easier to make pay. Shame on you.

The owner had people come to clear garbage and construction debris from the house. They left broken glass all over the front yard and sidewalk. We live next door and this property inconstant disrepair.

More trash dumped in front yard. There are now two old couches here. Please fine this owner so he will stop flagrantly defying all the citations.

The absentee landlord does not take care of anything at this property. Grass is out of control. Looks like a wheat field.

Grass is a foot high here. They finally cleaned up most of the debris, but who knows what is buried in the overgrowth?

Contractors climbing all over my roof and using it as a staging area for renovating the house next door. Sick of reporting these people and nothing being done. They are in my freaking roof with construction materials!
  • 401 Second Avenue Albany, New York - Delaware Avenue
Contractors working on this house leave debris and construction materials everywhere. I spoke with the owner so he was informed more than a week ago. Today, an old mattress from this house was placed in front of our house. Last week, at least a dozen bags of construction debris were left in front out neighbor’s house (must have assumed it was vacant so no one would care). There are lots of children who have only the streets and sidewalks to play in in this neighborhood. This is both unsafe and unsightly.

Random workers, presumably hired by whatever management company is "taking care" of this property come over and do bits and pieces of work. It has been poorly, has been observed by city codes, and yet they have returned today to work on the front porch steps and railings. No permit for this work is visible. The work is a mess and clearly not up to code.

We are blocked in by abandoned and neglected homes on either side of us. Neither owner clear the snow, so we have to walk our 7 year old to school in the street on 2nd Ave. Constant problem.
  • 405 Second Avenue Albany, New York - Delaware Avenue
This house is for sale and vacant. The owner does not remove the snow from the sidewalk leaving it completely blocked with both the accumulated snow and the plow snow from the road. We also have an abandoned home on the opposite side at 401 2nd Avenue, so we are effectively blocked from walking anywhere but in the street.
