    Bank Street New Britain, Connecticut - New Britain

    ATTENTION NEW BRITAIN-AREA BUS RIDERS
    Effective: Monday, April 30, 2018

    Due to construction, the CTtransit bus stops on Bank Street in downtown New Britain will permanently close effective April 30.

    CTtransit Routes 41, 501, 502, 503, 510, 512 & HNB

    A temporary bus stop will be established on Columbus Blvd. between Truman Overpass and CVS. The temporary stop will remain in effect until construction of Columbus Blvd. is completed in late summer.

    Please note that Routes 501 & 510 will pick up on Columbus Blvd., but will drop off at Downtown New Britain Station.

    CTtransit Routes 505, 506, 507 & 509

    The downtown bus stop for these routes will be permanently moved to Downtown New Britain Station Bays M, N, P & Q. As a result, Route 501 will no longer pick up at Downtown New Britain Station.

    Please note that Routes 505 & 509 will pick up at Downtown New Britain Station, but will drop off on Columbus Blvd.

    Customers transferring between the Columbus Blvd. and CTfastrak Downtown New Britain Station bus stops should use the pedestrian path located east of Truman Overpass.

    It is anticipated that the construction will last until approximately early fall 2018.

  • Bedford & First Stamford, Connecticut - Downtown

    Beginning on Monday, February 29, two bus stops on Bedford Street from will be closed due to road construction.

    The temporary closure will effect the stops at

    --Bedford Street and First Street

    --Bedford Street and Third Street

    During this construction, passengers of the 31 and 32 routes should use the bus stops at Bedford & Hoyt Street, or Bedford & Fifth Street.

    This construction is anticipated to last approximately two weeks.

  • 200 Orange Street New Haven, Connecticut - Town_Green

    ALERT TO ALL NEW HAVEN AREA CTtransit CUSTOMERS! Due to worsening road conditions during the winter storm, bus service in the New Haven area will be suspended beginning at 2:00PM today, Saturday Jan 23, until further notice when safe operations can resume. The 2:00PM trips will depart downtown New Haven, and service will be suspended after those trips are completed. Customers please do not plan to travel after 2:00PM today in greater New Haven.

    AT THIS TIME, New Haven area service experiencing delays of approximately 20-30 minutes on average. Delays will likely increase until the ceasation of all service this afternoon.

  • Transportation Center Stamford, Connecticut - Downtown

    Update 11:04AM: CTtransit Stamford area customers: due to winter storm and roadway conditions, service will begin shutting down around noon depending on routes and ridership. By 1:00PM today CTtransit bus service in the Stamford Division will suspend service until further notice when safe operations can resume.

    I-BUS customers note: 11:30AM departure from Stamford Transportation Center toward White Plains will be the last trip to operate today.

  • 812-824 Chapel Street New Haven, Connecticut - Town_Green

    Temporary Bus Stop Relocation in downtown New Haven due to utility work November 9 to 20 - Starting Monday, November 9, through Friday, November 20, the Eastbound bus stop on Chapel Street near Orange Street (in front of Footlocker) in downtown New Haven will be relocated to Chapel Street in front of Starbucks. This temporary change is needed while United Illuminating works at 821-825 Chapel Street.

    For the duration of the utility project, temporary concrete barriers will be placed closing the bus stop area, resulting in travel lanes only. Buses will not be allowed to board or alight passengers in this area.

  • Bedford & Broad Stamford, Connecticut - Downtown

    At the request of the City of Stamford, the bus stop at Bedford & Broad Streets (at McDonalds) is being discontinued.

    Customers on Routes 31, 32 & 33 are advised to use the Veterans Park (Atlantic Square) or Bedford & Forest bus stops.

    Customers on the Commuter Connection Central are advised to use the or Broad & Greyrock or Bedford & Forest bus stops.

  • East Main & Myrtle Stamford, Connecticut - Downtown

    Due to on-going construction, the CTtransit bus stop for Routes 41 & 42 at East Main & Myrtle eastbound (at Stamford Toyota) has been closed.

    Customers are advised to use the bus stops at East Main & Quintard or East Main & Lockwood, instead.

  • Church & Chapel New Haven, CT - Connecticut - Town_Green

    In anticipation of severe winter weather, CTtransit bus service in greater Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury, New Britain, Meriden, Bristol and Wallingford will suspend service on all local and express routes by 8:00PM Monday, January 26.

    NEW HAVEN-AREA The following trips will depart the New Haven Green at 7:30PM. If your route is not listed, the last trip prior to 7:30PM will depart as scheduled.

    All trips scheduled to depart downtown New Haven after 7:30PM are cancelled.

    Customers who intend to make connections with these trips should anticipate delays and plan to arrive downtown well before the last trip departs.

  • Whitney & Audubon New Haven, Connecticut - Town_Green
    Effective Wednesday, August 13, 2014, the CTTRANSIT bus stop for the J-Whitney Avenue and Commuter Connection routes at Whitney Avenue & Audubon Street will be permanently moved from the north side of the intersection to the south side before the intersection.
  • Main & Gold Hartford, Connecticut - Downtown

    Due to construction, the bus stop at Main & Gold (in front of the church and Ancient Burying Ground) in downtown Hartford is temporarily closed. Customers on routes 37, 39, 43, 53 and 55 please use the temporary stop on Main Street at Bushnell Towers.

    Construction is scheduled to be completed after Wednesday, July 23.

  • Central Row South Hartford, Connecticut - Downtown
    Beginning after 9:00AM on July 23 through July 25, the bus stop on the south side of Central Row (CVS/Travelers) will be closed for construction. Customers are advised to use the following alternate bus stops:

    --Route 30 will pick-up at the temporary bus stop at Pearl & Main (Gold Building).
    --Routes 41 & 59 will pick-up at Atheneum Square (Travelers).
     
    Express Routes (AM)
    --Routes 3, 4, 6, 7, 10 & 14 will pick-up at Main & Central Row (750 Main St.) then make their regularly scheduled pick-up at Market St.
    --Route 20 will pick-up at the temporary bus stop at Pearl & Main (Gold Building).
    --Buses arriving from points west (Routes 1, 2, 9, 11, 23, 24, 26 & 27) will drop-off at Pearl & Main (Gold Building).
     
    Express Routes (PM)
    --Routes 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 14 & 18 will pick-up on State St. (Phoenix).
    --Routes 17, 19, 20, 21, 23 & 24 will pick-up at the temporary bus stop at Pearl & Main (Gold Building).
  • Central Row Hartford, Connecticut - Downtown

    During the annual Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, June 1, temporary CTTRANSIT bus stops for all routes will be established downtown at Central Row (both sides), on Main Street at the Old State House, and on Pearl Street at the Gold Building.

    In addition, there will be no CTTRANSIT bus service...

    -On Main Street between Pearl Street and the South Green
    -On Capitol Avenue (Route 63) between Main and Broad Streets
    -On Park Street (Route 31) between Main Street and Park Terrace
    -On Retreat Avenue, Washington Street or New Britain Avenue (Route 39) between the South Green and Broad Street*
    -On Maple Avenue or Franklin Avenue (Route 47) between the South Green and Preston Street*

    * A Shuttle bus will serve these areas, timed to meet Routes 39 & 47 at Preston Street.

  • Columbus & Main New Britain, Connecticut - New Britain

    he annual New Britain Memorial Day parade takes place on Friday, May 30. during this event, most of Broad Street and Main Street along with segments of Burritt Street and Franklin Square will be closed to traffic from approximately 4:30pm to 8:00pm.

    In addition, during the parade:

    -- Burritt St will be blocked from Alden St to Myrtle St;
    --Clinton St will be blocked at Albany Ave with no access to Broad St;
    --North St will be blocked at Sexton St with no access to Broad St/Main St;
    --Arch St/Chestnut St will be blocked at Main St;
    --All of Main St and Broad St will be closed.

    CTTRANSIT buses will use stops on Columbus Boulevard for their downtown connections during the parade.

    The parade is set for May 30 at 6 p.m. starting at the top of Broad and Burritt streets. The procession goes east on Broad Street for 1.5 miles, south on Main Street for 0.7 miles past the reviewing stand in Central Park, and then disperses at Franklin Square in front of the state courthouse.

  • Grand & Ferry New Haven, Connecticut - Fair Haven

    The 6th Annual Fair Haven Community Parade Hosted by Mary Wade will be held on Friday May 30 from approximately 10:30AM to 12:00PM (noon).

    During this event, Grand Avenue between Ferry and Front will be closed to traffic. CTTRANSIT buses will detour via Front, Ferry, to Chapel Street.

    Inbound service: Grand & Ferry Bus Stop will be temporarily relocated to Grand and Poplar Street.

  • Atlantic Square Stamford, Connecticut - Downtown

    On Sunday, May 25, between approximately 11:30AM to 1:30PM during the Memorial Day Parade in downtown Stamford, all CTTRANSIT bus stops at Atlantic Square will be temporarily closed. There will be no service on Bedford or Summer Streets south of Hoyt Street.

    Customers should plan to make all transfer connections at the Transportation Center.

  • Maple & Bailey North Haven, Connecticut - North Haven

    CTTRANSIT C-route Customers: Parade Detours in North Haven on May 24

    During the Memorial Day Parade in North Haven on Saturday May 24th, between approximately 10:00am and 1:30pm, Maple Avenue, from Bailey Road and Church Street to Broadway/St John Street will be temporarily closed.

    The closest bus stops during detour are:

    -Outbound: Maple & Pool Road and Clintonville Road & Washington Avenue (Route 5)

    -Inbound: Washington Avenue near Clintonville Road, and Maple & Pool Road

  • Church & Elm New Haven, Connecticut - Town_Green

    Temporary Bus Stop Relocation in Downtown New Haven Wednesday May 21

    The bus stop at Church & Elm (in front of Wells Fargo Bank) for the J Whitney and O Winchester Ave buses will be temporarily closed on Wednesday May 21st from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

    Passengers from the J Whitney and O Winchester Ave buses should board and alight at Church & Chapel or at Church & Wall St.

  • Dixwell & North St New Haven, Connecticut - Hamden
    SUNDAY, MAY 18, 2014 Between approximately 1:00PM and 5:00PM, there will be no CTTRANSIT bus service on Dixwell Avenue from North Street to Dixwell and Lake Place during the Freddie Fixer Parade.
  • East Main & Myrtle Stamford, Connecticut - Downtown

    ATTENTION CTTRANSIT 41-Norwalk & 42-Darien Customers

    Effective through July 2014

    Due to on-going construction, the CTTRANSIT bus stop for Routes 41 & 42 at East Main & Myrtle eastbound (at Stamford Toyota) is closed. Customers are advised to use the bus stops at East Main & Quintard or East Main & Lockwood instead.

  • Church & Elm New Haven, Connecticut - Town_Green

    Due to repairs to the damaged sidewalk area, the CTTRANSIT bus stop on Church Street and Elm Street (in front of Wells Fargo Bank) will be temporary relocated for the duration of the construction. The repairs are scheduled to take place between approximately 9:00AM and 4:00PM on the week beginning May 5.

    During the repairs, J-Whitney and O-Winchester passengers normally using this bus stop should board or exit the bus at the stops at either Church & Chapel or Church & Wall Streets.
