  • 8 South Lake Avenue Albany, New York - Albany

County Waste doing incredibly loud garbage pickups again in residential areas at 1-3 am. This time they did two separate pickups, one at 1 am and one at 2:30 am.

This is maddening. How tf is this still happening. How hard can it be to tell county waste to respect the needs of Albany residents.

  • 8 S Lake Ave Albany, New York - Albany

County Waste is at it again, conducting incredibly loud garbage pickups 3x/week between the hours of 2-5 am at the Mayflower Apartments. The trucks are extremely loud, even when idling, and the banging of the garbage cans carry into nearby apartments.

These trucks are above and beyond acceptable city-level noise. There have been loud music parties in the same area that are a tenth of the loudness of these trucks. It doesn't help that the garbage pickups last 10-15 minutes, ensuring that if you are awoken by the trucks, you're staying awake.

I have previously complained about this and emailed the mayor's office. They stopped for approximately 5 months, and then continued their 2-5 am pickups. This level of noise should not be produced in residential areas at a time when people are sleeping. This must be breaking noise ordinances, especially as this noise is being produced by a private garbage company.

  • 6 South Lake Avenue Albany, New York - Albany

County Waste has been picking up garbage at 3 am (right now) for the past 4 weeks in this residential neighborhood. The trucks are loud as they crush trash and wake people up.

Is this really not breaking noise ordinance laws? It's 2:40 am. Nothing has been done and it's been going on for weeks sometimes multiple times per week.

  • 6 S. Lake Ave Albany, New York - Albany
Last night was the second time in a week I have been woken by a recycling/garbage truck doing a pickup at 3 am outside 6 S. Lake Ave. It was from County Waste company. The truck is extremely loud when it breaks down materials and the banging of the garbage cans is quite loud for 3 am. It would be great if they could do their pickups during hours people are typically awake.
