  • Shattuck Ave & Alcatraz Ave Oakland, California, 94609 - Bushrod
Since the upgrade on this intersection, pedestrian signals do not allow crossing without hitting the button. This means that we frequently approach the intersection just as the light changes and cannot cross despite it being safe and having plenty of time to do so. There's a lot of temptation to cross anyway, but motorists feel free to make right turns (without being careful) when the hand is red, creating a dangerous situation. There's no reason to not always allow pedestrian crossing when the light is green. It is less confusing and safer.

Lots of trash piled up on the ground along Adeline next to the Bart station. It's pretty disgusting.

In addition to the SUV parked all the time in the lot, the open door of the building inviting squatting, and the tattered and paint spattered black cloth hanging from the fence, there is yet more graffiti painted on the cloth.
  • 6501 Shattuck Avenue Oakland, California - Bushrod

Vacant lot on north west corner of shattuck and 65th.

    - More graffiti on cloth covering chainlink fence.
    - Much of the cloth has come loose and is exposing the fence and the lot.
    - Most importantly, doors to the abandoned structure on the lot are OPEN, making it easily accessible for squatting.

This is by the empty lot at the north west corner of Shattuck and 65th. Something really needs to be done about this lot-- it's horrible itself and attracts this sort of illegal dumping all the time.

This building seems to be a magnet for grafitti since the Pizza Hut closed. Wouldn't this be a perfect place to stick a simple security camera to figure out whose been (at least partially) responsible for the increase in tagging over the last few months?
