I agree, somehow we have lost a merge lane and made this more dangerous for cars and people. The merge lane is needed!

This is MORE Dangerous!!! You have removed the merge lane and Ialready seen one accident!
We can not see through the intersection to see who is coming from Glenwood south (view is blocked by traffic) that is literally the reason for the merge lane, which is now completely blocked.

This entire interesection needs to be re-done. Children cross here 2x per day in mass and there are multiple entries and exits into the shopping center that are illegal entries but NO other solution.

I fully agree with these comments. I lived on Cartier Drive for most of the last 30 years and this has created a terrible hazard at a time when traffic in this area has significantly increased and is about to explode with the new development on Oberlin. The first time I saw that the merge lane had been blocked, I was shocked that this had been allowed. I have also seen a near miss of a pedestrian at this intersection. It’s only a matter of time before someone is injured or worse. Years ago, there was a pre crossing at Wayland that was closed when the school was remodeled. Now there is no other place to cross.
Please, you must bring back the merge lane on Oberlin!

I triple these comments! I live on Wayland and the new blocked lane makes merging a complete nightmare. It is so much more difficult to merge into the main road now. I feel like I have so many more blind spots than I used to have. Please give us the merge lane back!

I agree that the loss of the merge lane reduces visibility and makes it more dangerous for cars. I'd like to see that returned to the previous configuration. The pedestrian crossing is a separate issue that also needs to be revisited as it is not in a conventionally predictable location. It should be moved farther from the intersection to improve visibility to traffic, or moved directly adjacent to Glenwood ave., like the other crossings in that intersection.

This is unacceptable. My son walks to school and uses the crosswalks along with many other children! He also is in sports and clubs after school when there is NO crossing guard and now NO crosswalk! Having a crossing guard is the bare minimm but having the visual crossing is just as important.
All of the paving/painting has been done
and still Nothing has been fixed!?!?!
So our kids have to fend for themselves against ever increasing traffic of Oberlin Rd.
I’m very concerned that this hasn’t been prioritized before school starting!
This crossing needs signs, flashing lights and stop signal to make sure that drivers See this and stop before something bad happens.
Having the utmost safety for our kids against oncoming traffic both during and after school should be the most important part of this project.

There is a dead tree and a light pole at the very corner of Cartier and Gordon St . The tree is falling and is laying on the light/ple/wires I have reported this 2 times. The vines are now entwined in the power lines. Workers came by but have done nothing, this is a dangerous situation and needs to be addressed immediately.

Wayland Height sewer project was recently completed. We first need to tell you that they did an excellent job. However they never readded the pavement lines/ stop lines at the intersection of Peachtree/Gordon/Ashland. This is really important before school starts as people are cutting through Peachtree at high speeds after dropping their kids off at Daniels middle school. That is a 3 way intersection (with a condo entrance there as well) and very dangerous. It becomes a real terror in the morning and at pickup times after school. also the sign coming down Ashland, is hidden in the tree limbs. thank you

we have a very dangerous intersection issue caused by two different factors. #1 is the weird traffic pattern that has 4 road entries feed into one intersection. Peachtree st, Gordon st, and Ashland st. don't actually meet at one point, there are several intersections within this intersection. Also because of the homes/trees at each intersection, you can't see cars coming from any much less all entries. Drivers aren't able to see pedestrians or cars coming or crossing any of those streets. And Peachtree is a 90 degree turn that is even more hidden.
The second issue is that the entire neighborhood has cars trying to avoid Daniels middle school. Instead they use Peachtree as a cutthrough, driving around and down Peachtree at high speeds.
Trying to exit a driveway at 8am is all but throwing dice not to be hit. All of this becomes a perfect storm because the way Gordon, Peachtree and Ashland meet. Please review the traffic pattern, adding signs/signal, Or consider making a dead end at Peachtree to stop thru traffic and avoid the "four-points" intersection issue. change something, anything....
