  • Paving??? Archived
40 Foxon Hill Rd New Haven, Connecticut - Quinnipiac
Our road was de-paved over a week ago in preparation for an entire resurfacing. Is there a reason that nothing has been done since? It's developing lots of ruts, holes, etc. Are we doing this on purpose to find out where problems develop and how best to repave it to minimize issues, or is the delay merely going to mean that more work has to be done before it can be resurfaced?

2 potholes, one large, one very large, need filling right at bottom of hill.
  • Sachem St New Haven, Connecticut - Prospect Hill
With all the snow, Sachem St in particular has become very problematic. People who park between Prospect & Whitney aren't able to park close enough to the meters to leave the full traffic lane clear. There are often problems where traffic simply can't get through because there isn't enough room. I think if the snow can't be better removed, we should have a temporary parking ban on one side of the street until spring.

  • Trumbull St New Haven, Connecticut - Downtown
Some years ago, the parking on Trumbull St was restricted to one side of the street during rush hour (you couldn't park on the westbound side from 7-9 AM, and you couldn't park on the eastbound side from 4-6 PM, between the highway ramp and Prospect St). For some reason, at some point (before Ms. Harp was elected), this was changed and now people can park there any time. This results in a much worse rush hour. I can't imagine that the parking meter revenue generated during those hours is great enough to make up for the extra aggravation and emissions that are happening because of the change. Would it be possible for the city to reinstate the earlier parking time restrictions?
  • City Buses Archived
413 Orange Street New Haven, Connecticut - Downtown
This morning a city bus quite egregiously ran the red light at Trumbull heading north on Orange St at approx 8:20 AM. The car that went through before the bus was pushing it - the bus was WAY past the red and got stuck in the intersection, blocking the traffic that had the green light. New Haven drivers are known to be sketchy but the city buses are the WORST of all!! In a previous incident I saw one nearly mow down a pedestrian by running a red light. Can we please tell city bus drivers to drive more safely??
