There is no crosswalk for several blocks on either side of this intersection. Cars do not generally yield to the moderate flow of pedestrians in this area.

Solution: Crosswalk, stop signs, road humps

No crosswalks painted on busy pedestrian intersection outside VA Hospital near UPenn. There are crosswalk lights but 3 of 4 sides of the intersection don't have crosswalks painted on the street. Cars are frequently confused and patients, students, and employees who use this heavily trafficked foot path are left to dodge cars even when they have the crosswalk signal. Please paint on crosswalks and out up signs that tell motorists to lookout for pedestrians.

The waiting shelter at the SEPTA stop in front of the Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital does not have anywhere for ailing patients of the hospital to sit while waiting for a bus. As someone who spent months on crutches leaning against the shelter while balanced on one leg, I would greatly appreciate this improvement for the numerous patients who find it challenging to stand for long periods of time.

    Thank you for your assistance.

  • 2200 Chestnut St Philadelphia, PA 19103, USA - City Center West

The bike lane that runs from University City along Chestnut disappears at 23rd St. when the right lane becomes a bus and bike only lane during rush hour (excepting right turns). However, many cars disregard the fact that bikes, and not cars, should be in the right lane and frequently try and squeeze bikes out of the right lane between 22nd and 20th Sts.

    Recommendations:
    (1) better policing of this area
    (2) additional signage at 22nd indicating the bike lane and right lane merge

  • 2922-2954 Chestnut St Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA - Cobbs Creek

This is a very dangerous stretch of road for cyclists because the bike lane and right turn lane intersect. I bike it daily and have seen two accidents and numerous near accidents between bicyclists and motorists. Last week my husband's rib was broken when he was struck by a car while biking here. When we returned to the scene to look at it several days later, we found another biker rolling on the ground after having just been hit by a car.

    1) Flashing lights and signs are needed here
    2) bright plastic road dividers should be installed, to limit the area that cars are able to move into the bike lane
    3) and/or more permanent bike lane dividers should be installed to protect cyclists

Thank you for consideration and assistance.
