Cars on Rte 219 South (driving west, from Granby toward Pleasant Valley) turning left at the Rte 179 intersection and continuing on Rte 219 South, frequently fail to stop at the stop sign. It's especially common when there's a line of cars ... the first car goes through, then all the rest continue right along behind it, without stopping.

I've seen troopers near here, I assume watching the intersection, but it's not very often. And it doesn't seem to put a dent in the frequency of drivers cruising the stop sign.

This has been going on for decades and I'm sure is not news to police or town officials, but something really needs to be done. I'm getting tired of having to "slalom" my way through this intersection.

Where the road (Rte 10/202) meets the driveway to the Big Y/Ocean State Job Lot store, there is a crack in the road toward the right (south). Turning right out of the driveway onto Rte 10/202 causes a jolt, and cars with low clearance can bottom out.

This is not a pothole per se, it's a crack. This means it's not always very visible, but it's still deep enough perhaps to damage a car.

This is not a new problem, it seems to come and go. I'm not sure if this is because it gets repaired but comes back, or if the crack widens and narrows on its own (perhaps due to temperature changes).
