No towing policy fail. I notice that the city does not ticket cars parked illegally during street sweeping. Consequently large sections of streets go un-swept. There was no real challenge to the implementation of this policy, because when a city is run by a single political Party for over half a century, there’s no real dialogue, and therefore no real incentive to improve ANYTHING: dirty streets, growing crime, mediocre school system, etc. Just keep the Party donors happy, so we can maintain the status quo. Notice those long-obsolete signs posting the TWICE a month sweeping schedule? That was done away with many years ago. And of course we never got an explanation why street sweeping was completely suspended last summer due to COVID. Street sweepers spread COVID? Perhaps the next step will be to reduce sweeping to every other month. I hope then at least they’ll ticket cars, so we’re getting SOMETHING for our excessively-high taxes. Sigh…

On July 29 the Building Dept. shut down Eddy's due to collapsed roof. HOWEVER the shop owner continues to do business illegally via the back door, which is in a somewhat secluded alley. The business owner needs to be fined (or arrested?) and LCI needs to board up the rear entrance. This is a public hazard.

Eddy’s Food Centre (on Howard Ave, at corner of Second St) was shut down last week (by LCI? Or by Building Dept?) until “repairs” are made. Left side of building has caved in. Building Inspector needs to do a THOROUGH inspection of the building--from basement to attic. My “unofficial assessment” is that the building appears to be in imminent danger of collapse and should be torn down. Please do a thorough inspection to ensure public safety. Thanks!

grey Chevy , no marker plates, still has parking ticket from last week, also was ticketed $100 last month due to it being in the way for April street sweeping. Street sweeping is tomorrow/ Wednesday May 26. Please remove so sweeper doesn't miss this spot--yet again. It's across from 78 Second St (between Howard and Greenwich Aves).

There is a growing pile of flammable materials--mattresses, furniture, etc--piled up next to a wood fence and close to a wood shed and wood house. The owners need to be ordered to conduct an immediate remediation and, if they do not comply, then the city needs to remove it and place a lien on the property. The owners (since 2009) are KENTWOOD & JANICE MAXWELL. Their mailing address is PO BOX 661, BRONX, NY 10475. Their residence is 120 Erskine Place, Apt 12F, Bronx, NY 10475

There is a growing, revolting pile of garbage behind 421 Greenwich Ave. It is full of rats, mice, possums and skunks and includes dirty diapers and human feces. The interior of the house is equally revolting and rodents have been observed entering the building. LCI has been aware of this issue since last fall and yet no progress has been made whatsoever to resolve this. The city needs to condemn the entire property, relocate the lovely inhabitants, then clean and sanitize the house and yard. THEN the city needs to place a lien on the property and not lift the condemnation order until the owners have paid the entire lien. ALSO note that their are children living here (at least part-time), so DCF needs to be informed. The owners (since 2009) are KENTWOOD & JANICE MAXWELL. Their mailing address is PO BOX 661, BRONX, NY 10475. (NOTE that they are not in compliance with the city ordinance which requires absentee owners to give a physical address, not a PO Box.) Their residence is 120 Erskine Place, Apt 12F, Bronx, NY 10475

Large flat bed trailer is left almost 24/7 in front of Betsy Ross Hall [former church]. The city ticketed the violator last week, but it's back.

Driver of sweeper no. 113 just did a great job of clearing up the mess in the dead-end of Second Street (off Greenwich Ave). Thanks!

Large flat bed trailer is left almost 24/7 in front of Betsy Ross Hall [former church]. I reported this recently and Traffic & Parking checked on one of those rare occasions when the trailer was not there. Please check again--and if no violation is found, return in 1 or 2 days--because it's there almost all of the time.

It's Wed 10:15 am. Trash was picked up earlier BUT they left half of the garbage toters on Second St, between Greenwich & Howard, full but pulled into the street. I no longer hear the truck in the area. Perhaps the truck is full and they will return??

Large 18-wheeler routinely parks on Hallock AVE at First St. Driver lives in vicinity so parks his truck there. City ordinance only allows large trucks in residential zone if actively loading/ unloading--NOT just parking.

There is a Nissan Altima on the corner of Hallock Ave and Fourth St. It's been there for 4 months, ticketed twice, has no plates. It obviously has been ABANDONED so needs to be removed. Thanks.
