The bulb out is clogged with debt is again. piling dirt to the side just allows the dirt to run back to the drain. It needs to be cleaned 8 side the culvert and out and the dirt and debris needs to be removed from the site.

There's graffiti on the lamppost at the corner of King and Harvard Streets.
  • 1819-1899 Cameron St Alexandria, VA - Braddock Road Metro
This heavily travelled section of sidewalk to the King Street metro has no trash cans -- not one -- from Buchanan Street (where there's a can) to Commonwealth Street (where the metro has a can inside the station). As a result, litter is always abundant on this section of Cameron Street. Adding a trash can (or two or three) to this section of sidewalk sure would help. To their credit, the sheriffs office sends a work detail of prisoners down from the jail on a regular basis every three weeks; however, the city should install some trash cans instead of (or in addition to) using prison labor to clean up this long stretch of sidewalk.
  • 1820-1898 Cameron St Alexandria, VA - King St Metro
The city planted several trees along Cameron Street three years ago. They were never watered and died. The city subsequently removed the trees, but never replaced them. It would be great to plant new ones (and secure commitments from neighbors to help the city water them until the plantings are established).
  • 1310 King St Alexandria, VA - Old Town
The city installed hundreds of flags that say Old Town. Most of them were destroyed and damaged. The city says all of them were removed because they could not afford the upkeep, but that's not true. The tattered and torn flags (and the damaged little flag poles) continue to flutter forlorn from 1300-1500 King Street. It's been this way for years and there's been no effort from the city to bring them down (or repair them).

Several (a half-dozen?) lights on the Rt. 1 bridge over the railroad tracks as you enter old town are out.
  • Mt Vernon Trail Alexandria, VA 22314, USA - Old Town North
The asphalt for the bike path has crumbled and is mostly gone from the Mt. Vernon Bike Trail in the portion of the trail that climbs from the waterfront to the entrance the main trail at the southernmost tip of the Mirant Power Plant.

Due to vandalism, poor installation and neglect, not one sign for the parking lot pool is perpendicular to the ground Pieces of the pool house roof are laying in the concrete blocks between the pool and the recreation center. The old lights facing Cameron Street, rusted beyond recognition and completely inoperable for years, have never been removed. It's a mess and needs a lot of city attention.
