  • 149-223 Lyman Street Waltham Massachusetts - Waltham
My friend broke his arm on Saturday when his bike hit this particular pothole on Lyman Street. The road condition is especially treacherous on the bridge that goes over the stream, where the road narrows.
  • 206-234 Woburn Street Lexington, Massachusetts - Lexington

The gas main work last fall left the pavement going eastbound on Woburn Street in rough shape. The ridges where the pavement was cut are particularly scary to cyclists -- they are right where we ride and in line with the road, so they can knock us over if we don't cut across them carefully.

    Can this be fixed, please?

  • 2586 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, Massachusetts - North Cambridge
On Mass Ave between Columbus Ave and Magoun street there is persistent water on the side of the road. Perhaps a water main leak? This will be turning to ice soon and will be a hazard for bikes and pedestrians.
  • 990 Massachusetts Avenue Arlington, Massachusetts - Arlington
At 8:35 this morning, eastbound on Mass Ave, a yellow Arlington Public Works truck passed me on my bike with just inches to spare. He did this twice. I caught up with him at Mass Ave and Lake Street and politely asked if he could give more room to cyclists. He (impolitely) told me that he passed me so close because I was too far out in the street and not in the "bike lane".
  • 980 Massachusetts Avenue Arlington, Massachusetts - Arlington
On Mass Ave Between Arlington Center and Cambridge there's quite a bit of gravel, sand, and debris on the road. On top of the construction, this makes things especially difficult for cyclists. Could the city please sweep the street frequently during construction?
  • 278 Beacon Street Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville
Along Beacon Street westbound every 100 feet or so someone has left piles of broken glass in the bike lane. Could the city please sweep this up?
  • 278 Beacon Street Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville

I realize that Beacon Street someday will be reconstructed, but in the meantime I'm still commuting by bike down it every day, and my tires are maybe as wide as that banana. This pothole, or maybe one of the others like it, who knows, flatted me just the other day. It's enough of a hazard just biking around all the construction and traffic. Can't Somerville make an effort to keep the pavement intact and the debris swept?

Present conditions are worst between Park Street and Somerville Ave, but new holes open up every day.

  • Minuteman Commuter Bikeway Arlington, Massachusetts - Arlington
It's been a week since the Arlington part of the Minuteman was plowed. The Lexington stretch is clear. No plowing means that cyclists are commuting on the roads, which increases traffic and decreases safety. Can we fix this?
  • Massachusetts Ave Arlington, MA - North Cambridge
NW-bound on Mass Ave, just across Route 16, is a manhole cover sitting a few inches below street level and potholes, both hazardous to cyclists. This has been around for months, and Arlington has not responded to other reports.
