Rain tonight has formed ponds on sidewalk, along east side of Marsh Rd. One is out front of Haslett Animal Hospital and the other is up between Lake Lansing Rd and Bliss. Both will be skating rinks by tomorrow (26 January) when it freezes. Water pools here every time it rains; drainage needs fixing.

There are multi-inch deep cracks and craters, especially in the 4 feet to the edge of the road (i.e. bike lane area) on Lake drive pulling off of Marsh. Lots more potholes and hazards all the way around the lake on Lake Drive, and also out on Towner, but truly huge cracks are here as marked.

After today's strong winds, there are two small trees down across the trail, one of which fully blocks the interurban. Were I riding my bike without a light, I would've been entangled and thrown. Tree too heavy for one person with no equipment to easily move out of the way.

The bike lane westbound on Burcham by MacDonald Middle School is still completely buried under the plow's snowbank.

Riding eastward home tonight on Burcham, I entered the Interurban walking/biking trail. Then maybe 50 yards later, just over the hump by the water plant, I was almost thrown off my bike by a big lump...of pavement (i.e. hard to see) pushed up by a plant in the MIDDLE of the path. Others are breaking through at the sides. How did such potent vegetation get under the path?! It's like Little Shop of Horrors! I think a good dose of weedkiller (or a blowtorch) and a roller to tamp it down would do wonders--thank you.

Long cracks in the asphalt paving of the Interurban path have opened up wide enough to grab a road bike's tire. They're parallel to the direction of traffic a few hundred yards in from the Marsh road end . If they could be filled and smoothly rolled (please no lumpy patches) before winter/water/ice got into them to make them worse, the surface would remain safe and smooth a lot longer.
