A fence is needed on the corner of the property at Poe Elementary at Poole Road. People tresspass so often there is a worn muddy path. Twice this week I have seen individuals walking across the campus around 9:00 with recent beer purchases from the store across the street from the school. I also saw a used condom on the street and a swarm of bugs by the lightpole. A fence would easily remedy this problem.

Every night this week during the "nightime hours" the St. Augustine's marching band can be heard inside my living room until around 10 pm. It sounds like a thunderstorm. Tonight I called 911 to report it and within 5 minutes, it stopped.

    Nuisance Laws

With more than 300,000 people in Raleigh, it is imperative that we are considerate of our neighbors. Noise, especially at night, can be a serious problem not only for those that have to hear it, but for those making the racket. The City of Raleigh enforces noise ordinances to help keep its neighborhoods pleasant places to live.

The City Code (see Sec. 12-5007(c).Sec 12-5008) gives specific details of the noise-related laws in Raleigh. Furthermore, Section 13-3017 outlines the laws regarding nuisance parties.

There is bundle of wiring hanging from an electric pole and just laying in the parking lot. Even if they are not connected or dangerous, they should be moved out of the parking space, secured to the pole and capped off!!!

The sidewalk ends on the St. Augustine side of N. State Street and then immediately picks up on the Oakwood Cemetery side of the street. There is no crosswalk and no signage (pedestrian crossing ahead). This location is close to a sharp curve in the road and it is very dangerous. Cars cannot see pedestrians until they are around the curve and there is very little reaction time. There needs to be a crosswalk painted here and crosswalk signs are needed as well.

The parking lot was once well lit at night, but I think a bulb may be out. Please replace it before the prostitutes notice it is dark again. We had a real problem a few years ago, but some diligent residents (myself included) have worked very hard to make this a place where their business is not welcome. I would hate for it to become a problem again. Thanks.
