    Hello:

    My name is Cindy Maturo and I own a three family house at 14 Compton Street in New Haven. I was issued 3 recycling containers at the beginning of the program, and a while ago, one of the containers lost it’s lid. (Or someone took the lid that had become detached from the container when it was at the curb after it was emptied.)

    Just this past Tuesday, the second of my recycling containers was there without a lid when I got home from work after leaving it at the curb for pickup that morning. It also had a lid that was just attached by a thread...So, I’m now down to one recycling container with a lid for the 3 apartments in my building which is tough because we all actively recycle. Obviously a recycling container without a lid fills with water when it rains, so it really isn’t possible to use it without the lid.

    I’m wondering if there is some way to either replace the entire blue recycling container or just get a new lid for the container that I have. Of course I’d be happy to pick it up if it’s a possibility to get a new lid.

    Please let me know if you need any other information and please let me know either way if it’s possible to get a replacement for my lid. I’m such a dedicated recycler that this is important to me.

    A number of huge branches came off a tree in front of my house on the parkway. I have called about the tree several times because it is mostly dead and I'm afraid the next big storm is going to cause a branch to fall on a person or on a car or other property and cause severe damage. I have reported this on the Parks & Rec. tree line phone # several times and no one has responded in any way. There was even an incident this summer when damage was done to my friend's car by a branch that fell. We called the police and they made a report, but still nothing has been done. Please take care of this tree before it injures someone...also, please take away the huge branches that are now sitting on the parkway in front of my house. Trash collectors did not pick them up.
