thick sheet of ice on the Baldwin Ave bridge south of 139. very dangerous as a pedestrian please clear
  • 39 Hopkins Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - The Heights
The section of the sidewalk has been closed for multiple days now forcing pedestrians to walk in the street while they have big trucks parked right next to it instead of creating a walkway. The construction on this building has been really thoughtless to all the neighbors on this block and continues to be. They should be fined so they understand that this sidewalk is publicly accessible and needs to be maintained for others to use.
  • 812 Homestead Pl Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
The only crosswalk to journal square station is currently blocked by construction. there is no safe place to cross the street and pedestrians are being forced into the street. if you are going to close the only place to cross the street you need to set up a temporary crossing guard station. after years of this exact complaint and this exact area I had assumed you would have figured it out.
  • 615 Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
as this is the only functional and safe crosswalk to get to the journal Square PATH station right now please ensure that it is always unblocked. this crosswalk which has been unstriped for a very long time is routinely blocked by a legally parked vehicles, construction vehicles, delivery vehicles, and in this case someone decided it was the best spot to jumpstart their car.
  • 575 Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
sidewalk fully blocked without accommodation for pedestrians
  • 345 Baldwin Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
sidewalk closure on very busy street near fatal intersection with no accommodation for pedestrians, forcing them to walk in the street into the street into oncoming traffic
  • 612 Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
construction vehicles love to park in this crosswalk and force pedestrians to walk in the street. there's even empty street parking behind this truck but the driver said no this is easier. I wonder why construction vehicles think this is easier. is it because there's no enforcement from the city. maybe you should start ticketing developers who repeatedly flout basic city and state laws.

  • 218 Central Ave Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA - The Heights
crosswalk closed on Central without any accomodations for pedestrians. Central is an especially busy street for car traffic and for pedestrians. their kids walking home from school right now all along Central. this closure is a recipe for disaster by forcing pedestrians to walk in car traffic.
  • 615 Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
safe access to this crosswalk is blocked again. sidewalk is closed without access to pedestrians short of stepping in the street to be able to cross and get to journal square path station.
  • 267 Baldwin Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
and this is the intersection of Summit and Baldwin where the driver has been sitting in the crosswalk for over 10minutwd forcing pedestrians to walk into oncoming traffic in a busy intersection. are you waiting for someone to be killed by the unsafe conditions you're permitting?
  • 115 Magnolia Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
not sure exactly how the city expects pedestrians to get too and from Journal Square PATH. you can't walk down Summit because of construction and now you can't walk down Pavonia either.
  • 618 Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
half the sidewalks around Journal square are closed and this one remaining crosswalk to access the station is routinely blocked by construction vehicles. the city is allowing developers to create a deadly obstacle course for pedestrians with no consequences.
  • 39 Hopkins Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - The Heights
this property has been under construction for years and it's bad enough theyve left this portapotrh blocking the sidewalk this whole time but now they completely block the entire sidewalk every day. They need to set up constructionaterial in their backyard or create temporary sidewalk accomodation of they're going to do this everyday.
  • 539 Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
both sides of the sidewalk are obstructed to the back entrance of the journal square path station, But don't worry car traffic can go through just fine. A big f*** you too pedestrians and people with disabilities trying to make it to the doctor.
  • 345 Baldwin Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
there needs to be a temporary sidewalk accommodation.
  • 16 Path Plaza Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
Developers have been using the sidewalk at the back entrance of the PATH JSQ plaza as their private parking lot all week. WOTS APP has completely stopped working and Parking Enforcement never answers the phone.Clearly asking cops to come by and ask them nicely to move their cars is not an actual solution. maybe the city should actually fine them for regularly illegally blocking sidewalks?
  • Parking Lot 534 Summit Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
Using busy and already poorly designed and dangerous sidewalk as a private parking lot. journal square is a transit hub that is especially busy with pedestrian traffic during rush hour. To so dangerously block the sidewalk during that time especially while leaving the three lane "driveway" which seems very little use relative to pedestrian traffic completely unblocked seems like a deliberate choice to endanger vulnerable road users. Developers need to be ehavily fined each time they do this. Instead enforcement just looks the other way and this behavior continues.
  • 1604 Hoboken Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
the push button to cross 139 at the southwest corner of this intersection has been non-functional for months. I can't believe that either the city or state government wasted the time and money to stencil in for signs on the ground telling pedestrians to push the button to cross safely but didn't bother to fix the button that would actually change the pedestrian signal because apparently automating the pedestrian signal is a bar too high to even consider. this is the epitome of our local governments approach to pedestrian safety. don't fix problems, make a cosmetic "fix" that blames pedestrians and makes the issue worse. when you actually get around to fixing that button do you think anyone is going to bother to press it after months of it being useless? moreover to do this at an intersection where there was a pedestrian fatality is so victim blaming I don't even have words for what a callous disregard this displays for your citizens.
  • 16 Path Plaza Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
driver just drove up on the "sidewalk" section of the plaza and almost hit pedestrians because it was unclear to the driver which section he could drive on. this design is incredibly unsafe especially in a high use pedestrian area such as a transit hub. needs to be redone ASAP so that sidewalk section is elevated, bollards are placed close enough together so that vehicles cannot drive through and other very basic requirements.
