why isn't this area of the city taken care of on a regular basis like the rest of the city. we did not get our streets wet because of Enersource
in November. now, with the snow coming tomorrow (and I was told we would get Street swept) on Monday or Tuesday of this week. instead, the plows will push the snow and all the leaves of the street back onto people's properties. I am sick and tired of paying my taxes and not getting Public Services the way the worst of the city does. and whoever reads this comment, I promise you I will be all over Mr. Elicker once he takes over as Mayor to ensure we get the same Services as everybody else on a regular basis. I am sick and tired of Public Works and that pathetic leadership not having the ability to adjust things.

The City of New Haven is talking about a rather large tax increase. If that's the case, why are we spending the time of the downtown ambassadors putting lights up on the poles on Chapel Street, in addition to obviously the additional electricity cost this will be.

This is a picture of the handicap spot in front of Toad's on York Street . Between this spot not being shoveled out as well as the handicap spot I already reported on Chapel Street off of York, it's quite obvious that the City of New Haven doesn't give a crap about any disabled person that has to come into downtown after it snows if I can figure out a way to sue the city for lack of services I will be doing it. And once again I challenge, I dare and I demand an answer from somebody in City Hall or the head of Public Works to explain to me why these situations happen everytime it snows. For a disabled person, it doesn't matter if it snows half an inch or a foot or more. The City of New Haven doesn't care one iota about anybody who's disabled. The absolute lack of handicap Spaces by itself is testament to that. Now this year after year problem of not clearing out handicap spaces after any type of snow has gotten out of hand. Maybe next time I'll put my car 3 feet away from the edge of the snow and block a lane so I can safely get out of my car. And if one of the meter maids (yes, no matter what name you call them they are still meter maids) gives me a ticket, I will gladly take the City to court with my pictures and have a judge determine whether or not the City is doing their responsibilities. With my knowledge of the law, I feel strongly that the city will be held accountable.

why is it a week since the snow and the corner of chapel and York Street has not been plowed out yet, including one of the rare handicap spots in the area. How pathetic Public Works is in doing their job in crop Ali in cleaning the streets of this city of snow.

why are there two trucks parked in the bus stop on the corner of chapel and State Street, when there a commercial spots in front of Dollar General. They are blocking buses from pulling over into their proper area, and creating a terrible backup on Chapel Street. It's amazing how nothing ever gets done about this

there is a Brinks truck sitting parked on Chapel Street on the corner of church blocking traffic in a prime location for no reason whatsoever and there is a police officer parked 50 feet away doing absolutely nothing about it

what lunatic authorized the security people at the Gateway Garage on Crown Street to start blocking both lanes to allow people out. Up until today they only blocked the inside Lane. This stupidity and lunacy is so unfair to the rest of the drivers in the area I was backed up the traffic be on George Street needing to make a left onto Crown. Somebody from the police department or the traffic department needs to speak to these people immediately and end this lunacy because I don't know what else to call it.

What am I supposed to do when I need a handicap parking space and other cars are parked illegally? There are often no other parking spots available in the area. Why aren't the damn meter maids more vigilant about walking around the entire downtown area and ticketing these SOB's, rather than jumping out of nowhere to ticket someone who might be in a commercial spot or a hooded meter spot for five seconds when they start writing tickets so they can pad their account for the week .

This car was sitting for over 30 minutes in the only handicap spot within reasonable distance of Broadway. Where are the damn meter maids that make people's lives miserable when they had a legitimate chance to do something right

It appears that the City plow damaged the lip of my driveway. I need to know this will be looked at and addressed with the other issue already reported and acknowledged in the same place. I am disabled and will bring this to the State and Federal ADA if it isn't addressed to my satisfaction.

it's now 5:10 p.m. and we have not seen a snow plow all day. it's stopped snowing around noon. where are all the snow plows in the City of New Haven. they did such a god-awful job the last snow, are they just going around around downtown. I pay my taxes like everybody else does and I demand the plows come here and plow this street from Curb to curb. the way this lousy service goes, he'll be here and just push the frozen snow in front of my driveway which will be very difficult to move. all of Public Works needs to be investigated in a public forum for this lousy service. there are no emergency numbers to contact as they are all closed. every city employee who has responsibility to all the citizens of this city needs to be investigated and many of them need to be fired immediately.

There is a tree on City property at the front of my driveway. The tree has uplifted the skirt of the driveway. I have been trying for 2 years to have the City address it. I never get a response from the Dept. that handles it, plus my so -called Alderman Darryl Brackeen NEVER answers my calls or emails. I spoke to the President of the Aldermans (Tasha Walker) who said she would get him to contact me (that was 3 weeks ago). In addition, that tree is now dead. I called the Park & Rec Dept. The admin. there (Lynn) said they sent someone out to look at the tree and claim there is nothing wrong with it. It is the only tree on this block that has lost most of its leaves already. As well, there are small branches that are now breaking off and falling to the sidewalk and street. Someone is going to get hurt if this isn't properly addressed. I am also handicapped and walk very gingerly. I keep telling the City that the apron problem is a hazard to me, but they don;t seem to care.
