I understand this is probably something for the US Postal Service, but perhaps the city can put in an official request as well. There is a letter drop off box on Cedar Street near Clyde Street. A better location for this mailbox would be at the Community Path intersection of Cedar Street. That corner surely has more pedestrian traffic.

And, dead mouse in the road near the curb.

This isn't the end of the Community Path anymore. "Begin" and "End" signs should be (re)moved.

New lights were dedicated on the community path a few weeks ago between Cedar and Willow, so why are the old lights on in the middle of the day?

Please explain this sign (and fix it, since it makes no sense). If it means no trucks any time, then the hours are not needed.

Water valve (or whatever is beneath the street) leaking. Does the blue spray paint indicate it's a known issue to be fixed?

Water valve (or whatever is beneath the street) has been leaking for at least a couple of weeks.

In honor of Earth Day, I'm reporting that these lights near Rite Aid are still on during daylight.

The two speed monitors on both sides of the Lowell Street bridge have not been working much lately. I suspect the reason is because the solar panels that power the batteries are aimed north. They should be directed south, so they actually face the Sun.

Clearly this isn't ADA compliant. This and the other previously reported corners along Hinckley St. have remained unfinished for two months. Will the repairs be completed before winter?

When is the construction for the newly installed accessibility ramps going to finished? At this location, the storm drain is still a raised structure.
  • 36 Richardson Street Somerville, MA 02145, USA - Somerville
When is the construction for the newly installed accessibility ramps going to finished? At this location, the new ramp needs a crosswalk and moving the No Parking sign so that the car nearest the corner isn't blocking the ramp.

Lights near Rite Aid and at community garden on during midday. Kind of a waste of electricity.

In Ball Sq., the two Walk lamps for the crossing across Willow Ave. are both out. The Don't Walk parts work.
  • 682 Broadway Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville

I reported this issue before, and it was closed as "that's the way it supposed to be." Now that I've done a bit more observation, I still think it should be adjusted.

During the light cycle at Ball Sq., there is a 20-second period in which the pedestrian signal at the intersection of Broadway and Willow Ave. changes to Walk in all directions (side note: the two Walk lamps for the crossing across Willow are both out; I'll report that separately). At this same time, all directions of vehicle traffic at the intersection of Broadway and Boston Ave. are stopped with red lights, and the pedestrian signals there still say Don't Walk. At this intersection, the pedestrian signal turns to Walk when Broadway traffic have green lights. It USED to be that the pedestrian signals went to Walk during that 20-second time as Willow Ave., but it doesn't now.

So, why does all traffic at Broadway/Boston have to stop when it is two blocks away from the signaled pedestrian crossing at Broadway/Willow? Cars on Boston Ave. could use that 20 seconds, especially during rush hour. Or, the pedestrian signal at Broadway/Boston could be restored to its previous cycle.

Will probably be gone by the time anything is done, however, why is the No Parking to Corner sign only 3 feet from the corner? DPW could have saved putting in a pole by putting that sign at the back pole.

The (overhead) solid green light on Russell St at Summer St is out. The only green is the right-turn signal on the post.

Does this sign still need to be up?
