Some work regarding either gas, water main or sewer was performed on sidewalk across from Temple months ago. A temporary asphalt surface was laid after this phase was complete. This remained for weeks, however more work was done removing concrete around a sewer grate presumably to prep for proper concrete repair. This was several weeks ago and since then a 6' deep hole to a open sewer was left exposed. I called it into the DPW weeks ago as this is a serious safety risk. Their solution to date: a cone!!! This is a lawsuit waiting to happen as its right at a crosswalk as well as the sidewalk. Residents' concerns about safety are going unheeded. Do we wait for schools to start back up before disrupting traffic on this main route?? Is this what our taxes pay for?????
