Irresponsible towing company on St Pete Beach towed my car seconds after I left it to go shopping in Publix in Dolphin Village. I had $126 grocery receipt to prove I was in there (as if I should have to). All showing my 30 minutes in the store. Sherriff's Dept. was called. Could, (would) do nothing although I think a report should have been filed for stolen car. When all this was explained to the person running the shop, all he could offer was for me to get a cab, go pay the $136 to the towing garage, and get my car. 3hours later my car was returned with an apology followed up with another call from manager with same. This cannot be right. Something has to be done. I am sure most people are parked illegally but I am also sure I am not the only person done unfair at this. This has happened before to me, almost 30 years ago. I paid the fare and did nothing then. This was Elvis Towing then. The company that did this just yesterday, July 13, is A-1 Recovery.
