  • Edwards Mill Rd Raleigh, NC, 27607, USA - Raleigh Council District D
Corner Macon Pond & Edwards Mill: Concrete median problem: The crosswalks are divided by a big unpainted concrete median and a smaller unpainted concrete median--the smaller is VERY difficult to see. Today I observed a car headed South on Ed Mill try to make a U Turn. The driver did not see the smaller unpainted concrete median and drove her little Toyota smack in the middle over it. Fortunately, no injury. Very dangerous & probably the source of a hunk of broken concrete which was around this area for many weeks (maybe Dec 20-March 21).
  • 122 Glenwood Ave Raleigh, NC, 27603, USA - Hillsborough
In the crosswalks at corner of Jones & Glenwood: a circular hole around 7 inches in diameter w/ a pipe inside--probably missing a lid. Danger of pedestrian falling if they place their foot in the hole. Probably a "water" hole missing a cover/lid. Color is black so is hard to see.

This morning 11/8/20, we noticed 5 City of Raleigh parking/no parking signs had been pulled down on the East side of Glenwood over around a 2 block stretch. Around 2 others looked as if the vandals had tried to pull them out, but just succeeded in leaving them crooked/slanted.

  • 600 Saint Marys St Raleigh, NC, 27605, USA - Hillsborough
Corner of St Mary's St and West Johnson, next to apartment
building: a silver-colored pipe maybe 2 inches in diameter around 4-5 inches from the curb embedded in the concrete is sticking up from the sidewalk. It is hard to spot. Trip hazard. We saw a wheel-chair user coming very close to the pipe a few days ago. It has been there for a couple of weeks. At times there has been an orange cone a couple of feet away but it doesn't serve as a warning for the pipe.

  • 2320 Clark Ave Raleigh, NC, 27607, USA - Wade
2 CONSTRUCTION-CAUSED HOLES IN ASPHALT: 2 rectangular utility holes cut in pavement & left unfilled for weeks. 1) North side of Clark street, abutting the curb, in front of the address sign for 2320 Clark Ave (Painted white brick) apartments: about 4 ft by 2 ft. Sticks way out into the street. Especially unsafe for bicycles. And 2) North side of Clark also--smaller hole just East of the driveway out of "The Oberlin" apartments. Maybe 1 ft by 2 ft.

8 inch circular hole, bounded by a metal ring, off-center inside the intersection; no cover; not a manhole. Has been open for at least a couple of weeks--have noticed while riding my bicycle. Today, I measured its diameter with a ruler & found the round hole to be around 8 inches in diameter. Using a yardstick, I found that the hole is deeper than a yardstick, possibly a pipe of some kind. Will try to send a photo. Dangerous.

Square hole cut into pavement maybe 10 in by 10 in pedestrian crossing of W. Johnson. Hole is unmarked and has no traffic cone, but its square shape suggests that some contractor cut it out of the pavement for some reason.

At East side of driveway off Clark into library parking area--a hole in the asphalt around 8 inches deep & 12 inches in diameter--near the sidewalk at the corner next to the driveway. As a car is heading West, and turning into the driveway into the parking lot closest to the library, the hole is about where the car's passenger side wheels would tend to travel. Not obvious, because it's all asphalt/no paint.

Have already reported that the crosswalks paint has faded out on both Clark over Oberlin (Faire Restaurant to apts next to Tupelo Honey) and over Clark (Faire Restaurant to concrete median for right turn lane for traffic turning onto Clark from Oberlin).Click & Fix said the city will get to it later. Very dangerous intersection for pedestrians and cyclists. Please consider adding one of the white regulatory signs which reads, "Turning Traffic Must Yield to Pedestrians."

2023 Cameron Street Raleigh North Carolina - Hillsborough
On South side of Clark between Daniels and Woodburn in Cameron Village in east-bound bicycle lane. Hazardous to cyclists: A 2 inch diameter cable is snaking on ground in the bike lane on south side of Clark. It originates and ends in holes in the ground for more than one block (basically from one branch bank to the 3rd branch bank). Forces the cyclist who is fortunate enough to see it into the traffic lane while pedaling East on Clark. Fall and traffic hazard. Might be electrical hazard too.

Sat night 9/24/16 we walked to Meymandi Auditorium over these crosswalks, which were blocked on East side by DETOUR signs. There is a round, uncovered hole just smaller than a dinner plate in the middle of the crosswalks. The hole is man-made, not an accidental pothole. The hole is a tripping hazard--hard to see and big enough for the foot to fall into.

In middle of Atlantic Ave, south of Harrod St, there's a short special concrete median. Its sign is lying down in the street. The sign can't be seen, but it must explain how the special concrete median marks a turn lane or the like. This makes the concrete median very difficult to see.
