2 Fridays ago, the maintenance guy had fixed all roof and plumbing leaks above my bathroom. This past Friday or Saturday, the bathroom ceiling was wet again. I have requested that maintenance inspect the apartment above me, because there must be something about the tub up there, and I don't want to wait until LCI has to make them replace my ceiling again.

I think the roof is leaking again. I had made a maintenance request thinking that the upstairs neighbor's bathroom was leaking into my ceiling, but I have made a further request citing the possibility of another roof leak. It has leaked in the past. The real issue here is that the emergency maintenance number would be answered by a maintenance person. Now, tenants are supposed to text to the number.

I am in my 6th year at 232 Ellsworth Ave. Recently, I called the building manager, saying that there were recent disruptions at all hours had changed the buildings from the family atmosphere to a dangerous one. She said Pike cannot control tenants. Over the past weekend, it was necessary to call the police, which did not end the threatening behavior of the tenant, including att4empted assault. I texted the manager in detail of this, but received no reply.

The boiler in the basement has been running all weekend. The maintenance person gas turned the thermostat down, which doesn't work and refuses to turn it off. The Fire Dept. has been here, but as there is no CO problem, or other hazard, cannot turn it off.

Today, early in the morning, there was only a trickle of hot water. The maintenance people told me there was an emergency and to call the office. "Number not in service". Hot water came on again, then dropped. Next, cold rusty water. Now, a trickle.
I have called LCI, and now have their after hours number. Can't Pike ever do things right?

Maintenance request sent to Pike this morning:

The boiler and the hot water heaters need service. The heat is off now, and only two of the four hot water heaters are on consistently.

A notice was left at all apartments yesterday. I think it says access is needed for a Bank inspection (?) I called Pike's number, but a message says it is not in service.
Will somebody please find out what sort of inspection they are planning?

The stairwell fire alarms at 226-234 Ellsworth Ave are again going off as a practically nightly event. I have reported this problem for years - the fire department has been here as often as three times a night. No one in this complex can tell if there is a fire or another false alarm. Responding to these events must cost the city a fortune. If there is a real emergency elsewhere firefighters should not be tied up here.

After heavy rains, the building entry door expanded and was now jammed in the frame. I shouldered my way out (women and children can't). Coming back I sprained my ankle on the sidewalk on Ellsworth, then had to limp back to my car to get a tire iron because although unlocked, I couldn't pull it open.
I called the office, but it looks like this will happen again. Luxury Apartment Living!

Once again, without notice, the water is off at 232 Ellsworth Ave, probably for repairs. I called Pike's office, but when I said it wasn't in my apartment but the building itself, they hung up and went to voicemail. This is typical. The city is in the Independent relating to lead problems. Why not this continuous treatment of the tenants here? Once again, refer to all my previous emails about the problems here.

I have emailed the Mayor's office the following:

Arrogant workers refused to ventilate the stairwell at 232 Ellsworth Ave on June 26, both for toxic dust from sanding old varnish and later toxic fumes from the new varnish. I think they may varnish today.
If not, there are old and infirm people and young children in these buildings, and this sort of thing should not happen.

When previously a worker filled the building with solvent fumes, I called LCI. They came over, but they suggested for quick action I call the Fire Dept.
The Fire Department has already had to roll out for false alarms, although there are now new detectors in the stairwells. Still, tenants do not know if there is a real fire

The alarm system (in the stairwells, not in apartments) in these buildings has been going off spontaneously for years. Reported many times, not fixed yet, going off again today.

Still the same; I just saw the carter's truck drive by. not stopping for obvious reasons.

Friday, Dec 30, dirty water began leaking through the overhead lamp in my bathroom. The cause was easy to find: workers in the apartment above cracked the floor tiles in the bathroom, then washed up in a leaky sink. I shut off the supply to the faucets and left a sign not to use the sink. The Pike maintenance people did not call back; the office did not answer.
    Sunday, Dec 31:
The fire alarm has not been fixed yet; went off about 5 AM.
Later this morning - the hot water pressure is falling off; maintenance says someone is coming to fix it.

    Sent to City Hall today:

I have been a tenant at 232 Ellsworth Ave for 3 years, always paying my rent on time. On Tuesday Dec 19th, a rather rude person called about renewing my lease, saying I must have received a notice by phone, email, USPS mail or a notice stuck in my door, ending with the statement that "he" (I don't know who this referred to) was thinking of giving me a notice to quit. On the Wednesday the20th I signed a new lease. On Thursday the 21st, I returned to find a copy of the CT form Notice to Quit Possession stuck in the door frame, not signed or served by a Marshall, and threatening eviction proceedings if I did not leave by tomorrow the 28th.
