Multiple heavy tree limbs down, obstructing south lane of N 163rd St, 1800 block. Requires chainsaw, city removal.

Meridian Park: the very south end of the park near end of the spur trail someone has been periodically camped there. A sleeping pad and bag were hanging in the trees and needs to be removed and disposed of. This area should be checked periodically for garbage, etc. This is not the first time for garbage and encampments this area.

Would be nice if an aspiring Eagle Scout or some such would take on finishing this trail loop. A shame it is not used more often (legally).

Shoreview Park: on the ridge top east of the "social trail" there are two "huts" built with tree limbs. They seem to have been there for some length of time, but someone(s) has built up the roofs on these and twice in the last month I have come through there at dawn and woke a sleeping vagrant. He has an emaciated look to him and says nothing, but he should not be camped there, nor should there be any permanent structures on Parks property without permission.

Please enter a work order to have at least the roofs removed when weather and resources permit (I know this has been done in the past, maybe for the same reasons). Thank you.

Three trees down across the path at trail intersection at north end of the ravine below the dog park. Bring chainsaws and a winch!

Shoreview Park gate on Innis Arden Way remained locked this morning during park open hours. This can cause a traffic slowdown/hazard on Innis Arden Way. The Shoreview Off Leash Dog Park gate to additional parking also remained locked during morning hours, requiring patrons to park at the Community College parking lot.
  • Shoireview Park Upper Parking Lot Shoreline, Washington - Shoreline

Shoreview Park upper parking area is used by meth or heroin addicts to meet (probably deal) many mornings (I use the the park from 7:45am to 10am so that is my frame of reference and usually the later time). It's one or two cars at a time and a half dozen or more rotating cars; yes they look like "druggy" cars and the occupants might as well wear a sign around their neck - they are up to no good.

Periodic police or official parks presence would be welcome in the upper lot and would probably help to dissuade these users. I'd hate for kids, dogs, or park employees to have to start dealing with used needles and such.

Please forward to Shoreline Police and Parks as appropriate. Shoreline Police have no valid email system for reporting non-victim issues and I will not call 911 for non-emergencies - that system leaves a lot to be desired so please pass this along to SPD, or not. Thank you.

Shoreview Park: Please evaluate downed fir tree for safety. Midway down the "Big Ravine" trail that is east and then north of the dog park there is a blown down fir across the trail that is about 7' above ground. Downed timber does not normally bother me but this one seems a hazard. It is already sagging several inches from its original position. Will you please enter a work order to evaluate for safety and remove as appropriate? Thank you.

There is a section of side sloping trail that needs a bit of work to assure it does not become hazardous - at the northernmost section of parking lot (entry point to woods), take the trail heading uphill, that then parallels a section of fence, then dog legs and heads downhill to follow along the eastern perimeter of the parking lot. As that trail downhill there is a section mid-way down that has eroded and needs some simple pick and shovel work to right it. Will you please enter a work order accordingly?

Hidden Lake Loop Trail Shoreline, Washington - Shoreline
Hidden Lake at Shoreview Park: there is a tree that is impeding foot traffic when raining as it gets wet and sags onto the trail - located exactly at the wooden "bridge" trail entrance to Hidden Lake. Forced to crouch nearly waist level to negotiate it when that happens. Please enter a work order to have someone saw off the lowest branch(es). The shrubbery bordering the trail in front of that bridge could use a bit of shearing as well. Thank you.

Bottles, beer cans (empty and full), empty cups by the dozens, discarded clothing, tearing up flora to line the roof of "lean tos", chalk? designs on trees. This is ongoing activity, and the following were present at 8am Sunday morning, August 20th:

    1. Enter Shoreview Park, drive to northern most point of the parking lot (past the restrooms) where entry/orientation sign for Boeing Creek Park is. 80 yards inside to the left is where discarded bottle, clothing, and chalked trees are. While grounds crew cleans that debris up, please ask them to look over the creek embankment (between the two trails, one leading to wet and dry creek crossing and the other to the lower soccer field). On that slope is a discarded 8' length of ground contact 8"x8" timber with two long rebar pieces sticking out. This was pulled up from somewhere in the park and has kicked around in that clearing for months and someone finally threw it over the edge.
    2. At the soccer field north end there were dozens of empty beer cans and plastic cups littering the field.
    3. Along the open trail immediately below that soccer field are empty beer cans.
    4. Just as you go down the trail below Right Field in the lower baseball field (nearest Innis Arden Way) there are discarded beer cans.
    5. Continue down that trail below the baseball field, and take the upper woods trail that heads north and parallels Hidden Lake; there are two shopping bags with dozens of full cans of beer

I have reported this after hours partying/vandalism before. This activity is ongoing and is most every night, at one level or another. I know because I walk my dog there early each morning. This is probably juvenile activity, but it should not be ignored. I have not seen any evidence of needle activity yet and don't want to. There are already homeless people parking and squatting in their cars in the upper parking lot on most mornings.

Please alert Shoreline Police and ask them to advise their patrol officers.

This is inside Shoreview/Boeing Creek Park entrance, approximately 80 yards straight in and to the left. [Enter Shoreview Park, drive to northern most point of the parking lot (past the restrooms) where entry/orientation sign for Boeing Creek Park is.]

This is the site of suspected after-hours activity (I am an early 8am walker). Person(s) over night are collecting sticks, limbs, and such and piling them onto trees to concoct bizarre looking lean-to's and oddities. Many of the limbs are from the ground, but some have evidence of fresh breaks so are being broken off of trees, in other locations stumps and ground roots are being hacked at with stone or tool; this morning there was an approximately four foot long landscape timber with two rebar ground anchors that had been pulled up from a site unknown and added to the evenings decorations. I suspect alcohol or drugs are involved based on the bizarre builds.

Please pass along to Shoreline Police and ask that they make some uniformed forays into these woods to ensure compliance with posted park hours and the law.

Hello. Please ask Grounds Crew to remove old rusting wheel and tire (car/truck) from the Shoreview/Boeing Creek park. Let the crew know its location is in the open area the "movie people" had their "space ship" staged at the last couple weeks. You can see the old tire easily as the whole area down there is fairly open, but is approximately sixty feet northwest of where the space ship was and is against the blackberry bushes. (This is alternately described as the open trail area immediately below the old soccer field). Thanks all!

Tent encampment - one large tent 100 ft inside Boeing Creek Park entrance and to the left. Enter Shoreview Park, drive to northern most point of the parking lot (past the restrooms) where entry/orientation sign for Boeing Creek Park is. Tent is visible to the left as you enter park there.

    PLEASE remove asap.

If able to, please forward a copy of this report to Shoreline Police for their patrol information (no, I won't report it by phone - tried before, too long of a wait)

City crews cleared ditch immediately southwest of Burke Ave N at N 163rd intersection; their truck/equipment took down a number of tree branches that overhang N163rd at that location and they left them in the ditch and on the city easement there.
Will Shoreline city please have crew clean those limbs up since it is mess they generated? I emailed pubwrks@shoreline.com last week when this happened and have received zero response to date.

Hello. Plenty of garbage, old shoes, clothes, food wrappers, etc., strewn along Interurban Trail North between N 160th St and N 173rd, as well as occasional graffiti on bordering fences. One really bad spot is about 80 yards north of N 160th St on the west side of trail behind bushes. Please ask ground crew to dispose of garbage and target graffiti for paint over. Please encourage a weekly cleanup patrol of this trail. There are some real unsavory characters that frequent that trail (I expect it might be a real creepy place late at night) and important to stay on top of this so it doesn't turn bad. Would be nice if police could patrol it as well (would need to be on foot occasionally to be effective), because I have seen overnight camping along here as well.
