I'm concerned for the safety of the children crossing from the parking lot #6 to vibe dance studio or Rochester martial arts This cross walk does not have the flashing lights or sign that says it's a law to stop at a crosswalk Drivers turn from Rochester rd onto 2nd street and never stop for the pedestrians With Rochester martial arts now taking up 14 spots for their studio only it forces the dancers to park across the street and walk across this crosswalk
I am requesting the city address the following safety concerns:
1. Install a lighted, flashing crosswalk, signaling a pedestrian is crossing- similar to what has been installed at Diversion, as well as E. University.
2. Install streetlight in the alley behind the Quik Pick Convenience store. There is no lighting in the alley.
There 2 large trees that block any pedestrian coming from E 2nd street towards Main Street. This alley has also had an increase in car and pedestrian traffic. This would bring the alley way up "to par" with other alleys in downtown Rochester, further ensuring public safety. We had one child killed in a crosswalk by Stoney creek high and I fear this could happen again at this crosswalk Please consider making this area a top priority
Thank you a

Cemetery Acknowledged135-199 Wilcox St Rochester, MI, 48307, USA - Rochester
I have been meaning to reach out to you sooner, but I was wonder what the process is for tending to/keeping up the historic grounds of Mount Avon Cemetery. I have done a significant amount of Civil War research on Avon’s veterans and was disappointed to find one of Rochester’s Civil War graves cracked in half and just sat up against another larger grave recently. Judging by vehicle tracks in the dirt nearby, it appears to have been run over by a vehicle of some sort. There is another grave not far from this one of another Civil War veteran that is also broken in half and has been for about a year. I have attached pictures of both of them.
I understand weather and conditions make it a challenge to keep up with overturned stones and graves that have simply succumbed to the elements, but if there is any process for fixing some of these graves, I would like to nominate these two to be tended to. The two graves belonged to:
1. Joseph Reimer - The Pennsylvania-born Reimer served for three months as a Captain in the 153rd Pennsylvania Infantry. He opened a hardware business on Main that would evolve into Case’s Hardware. His home still stands on Walnut Street.
2. Henry Millard - Millard was a nephew of early Avon pioneer Nathaniel Millard. Henry served with the 47th Indiana Infantry where he was mortally wounded at the Battle of Champion Hill, Mississippi in May, 1863. The battle was a part of the lead up to Grant’s capture of Vicksburg. Millard died in a Memphis Army Hospital in early June. His stone indicates he was killed at Champion Hill.
Thank you.

The tree in front of 923 Roselawn is dead. I was told the city removed the trees between sidewalk and street. Not sure if that is accurate.

Tree Maintenance Archived750 Letica Dr Rochester, MI, 48307, USA - RochesterThe oak trees along the sidewalk have low branches that are hanging over the sidewalk and you need to walk around them when walking by. I know oak trees have to be trimmed in the winter so now is the time to get the business owner to have this done. Thank you.

Rental Property Issues Archived801 Ironwood Dr Rochester, Michigan, 48307 - RochesterI live in Great Oaks Apartments in Rochester, MI. I am in building 801 and we haven't had hot water since Friday night. When I called the leasing office on Saturday I was told they had received multiple calls and maintenance wasn't in the office and I needed to call the emergency line. I called the emergency line and they also told me they had received multiple calls and were working on it. I informed them no one had been working on it since around 9:30 a.m. and at this time it was after 2. She told me they were probably running around trying to find parts. Sunday I called the emergeny line and was told they had no updates from the leasing office as to when our hot water would be working again. (The leasing office isn't open on Sunday's so I knew I was getting the run around). There has been many issues with the hot water in this building but they are usually fixed within 24 hrs. This time it has now been from Friday night and we still do not have hot water.
