    25 Yosemite Avenue Oakland, California - Piedmont Avenue

    About 8 feet out from the sidewalk directly in the path of cars.
    SIZE: About 2 feet by 2.5 feet, depth 8 inches at the worst spot.

    Dangerous for cyclists -- catches tires and could lead to falls and serious injury. Cars sometimes swerve into oncoming traffic to try to avoid this deep pothole. Also very difficult for pedestrians crossing the street.

    When pickup trucks hit the pothole, a lot of debris flies up and out of the truck beds onto the road.

    The cut-out area for a street tree is about 3 inches lower than the sidewalk --- my husband tripped and fell very hard at this location last week. This is an EXCEPTIONALLY BUSY pedestrian area, and we have heard that people trip here almost daily.

    It helps a lot that Baja Taqueria puts out a sandwich board during their open hours -- as this somewhat blocks off this tripping point.

    This side of Piedmont Avenue has a very narrow sidewalk, and it would be good to also inspect the tree planting holes headed down the street towards Peets Coffee and Piedmont Grocery etc.

    not sure of correct category: Wanted to report that as part of our volunteer cleaning of the beach area in front of the Lake Amphitheater, we found about 20 used syringes -- some with needle exposed. We suppose that people are gathering in this area to do drugs. Can you suggest to whom this should be reported?
