  • Old Gergetown Road (Near Beth El) Bethesda, MD - Bethesda
Who is in charge of allowing the recent (still going on) large tree removals on Okd Georgetown Pike near Beth El?? These are very large old trees, set away from the road by at least 8 to 10feet, very straight & from the trunk pieces left appear to have no disease. We are rapidly loosing our tree canopy in Bethesda with all the recent development and drop PEPCO going on a rabid tree removal as an answer to power outages. Why aren't more residents protesting this destruction of our city? Is having endless power that critical that we have to pay with our environments destruction? Why aren't we burying the lines or at the least starting the long process and asking developers to chip in every time they are granted a permit to profit from building here?? Don't you people realize you destroy the only thing that can clean the air that you and your kids breathe when you take down trees? And every tree provides food and shelter for other wildlife in our urban areas. Soon we will be left with the cockroaches, rats & a few pigeons and raccoons that are only around bc they live off of our refuse. Wake up Bethesda residents before you end up another Tysons Corner. What a shame. I would like to know who and how these decisions are made so I can gather my line minded neighbors to stop this crap.
