I created issues 5704657 on April 15, 2019 and 6588257 on September 2 to note that, in spite of "No Dogs Allowed" signs on the fence at Davis Street School, dog owners were meeting on Sunday mornings to allow their dogs free run in the yard.

The Health Department immediately closed each of the issues based on the fact that they had "Referred your complaint to the Board of Education, Facilities Management". I responded with a comment that each issue "has not been fixed. It has only been closed."

Today (about 7:30 AM and again at 9:00 AM on Sunday, November 3, 2019) I noticed that the problem is continuing. The dog owners stand near the Fairfield Street gate (where the "No Dogs" sign is posted).

Does the Health Department feel that dog feces in an area where elementary school children will play is OK as long as they have notified the Education Department about the situation? If so, the "No Dogs" sign should be removed. If not, both the Health Department and the Board of Education need to stop the dog owners from doing this.

Even if the Health Department "refers" this matter to someone else, the Health Department should follow up to ensure that the matter is taken care of.

Fairfield St & W Prospect St New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Amity
Large pothole which recurs twice per year due to seasonal temperature changes. Probably would be cost-effective to consider a one-time repair that can accommodate seasonal changes rather than repairing twice per year every year.

Every day many cars park in front of Davis Street School.
    We need to either:
    - remove the "No Parking" signs, or
    - get the school to get the parents to park in the parking lot in back of the school, or
    - give the illegal parkers warning citations and give repeat offenders tickets.
If the signs are there for reasons of safety, this is a major problem. If not, the existence of routinely ignored signs is a gateway to more serious problems.
In previous years, you have promised to ticket cars and then ignored the situation. Please do not close this issue by promising to ticket like in previous years. Try something else this year.

Davis Street School parking in front of "No Parking" signs continues and has expanded to Fairfield Street adjacent to school. Fairfield Street has become impassable at the school's fence gate daily in the afternoon. The problem on Davis Street also continues.

Need to either remove the signs or enforce them.

  • Davis Street New Haven, Connecticut - Amity
Daily and frequent violation of no-parking signs in front of the Davis Street School continues. The signs should be removed or changed or enforced. Perhaps the school needs to educate parents to park in the parking lot in back of the school. I reported this before, but it has disappeared from SeeClickFix and the problem continues.
