If possible, I would like to request that the Engineering department perform a traffic study on this stretch of Old Madison Pike between the traffic signal and the recently completed bridge. For the 3rd time in a week, I've come home from work around 5 o'clock to see a wreck right in front of my apartment. There are two issues, both centered around traffic heading westbound on Old Madison Pike. First, cars in the far right lane traveling west tend to fly down the lane as most of the congestion is in the left hand lane flowing straight. Cars traveling east that are attempting to turn left into Bridge Pointe Apartments have to fear for their safety while squeezing through the congestion. Second, cars traveling west tend to try to skip most of the congestion and get in the left hand turn lane (to go south on Slaughter) an unreasonably far distance away from the traffic signal. This leads to a potential incident with eastbound cars attempting to turn left into Bridge Pointe apartment.

Hopefully something can be done at this area. Every incident I've experienced since the bridge has reopened has happened around 5pm.
