DePalma Court could use some love from the city plows.
  • Wooster St New Haven, Connecticut - Wooster Square
Wooster St between Olive and DePalma (if not all of Wooster) should be zoned parking. A majority of the people that live on that block with cars have shelled out the $20 to get Zone 5 parking permits, but they are not protected from going over the 2 hour limit. Nearby DePalma Ct. is a 2 hour parking zone with an exception for vehicles with Zone 5 stickers. The same exception should be made for people on Wooster St.
  • 208 Wooster Street New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Wooster Square
The guy that runs Maresca & Sons funeral home on Chapel street is blowing all of his leaves off of his private property into city streets. This is only 3 days after the city ran street sweepers through here. He does the same thing in the winter with his snow. I don't know if this is illegal, but it sure is inconvenient to his neighbors and the city works department.

I just watched the private plow company that services the lot for Maresca & Sons Funeral Home at 592 Chapel Street push a giant load of wet soggy snow out of their rear parking lot into the middle of Wooster St. They have done this every single snow storm. Normally when they do this there isn't a car parked on Wooster, but this time there was and it was mine. Now I'm stuck between a giant pile on snow by the curb and a giant pile of snow in the middle of the street. Is there a way to fine these rogue snow-plowers? They shouldn't be plowing in cars and dumping snow on city street.
  • 28-50 James Street New Haven, CT 06513, USA - Fair Haven
For the past two hours youths have been going up and down James street speeding and doing wheelies on dirt bikes and quads. Not one cop has even rolled through this area. I wasn't going to report this (there are enough complaints about reckless dirt bikers i didn't want to add another), but on my way back to my car i was nearly leveled by one of these kids. If the cops want to stop these kids all it would take is one cruiser parked on the block. The park is full of kids riding bikes and playing with their families, the lack of policing here is a disgrace.

Don't bother plowing here. I love the snow and am an adult & realize that the plow crews are doing the best they can. They're trying to get the most important routes cleared first. However after they're done they should definitely focus on all the streets full of complainers that don't seem to see the forest for the trees. Please go plow their streets so they shut and stop complaining, and use this site for real issues.

There were already too few bike racks on this corner, and yet now the few that were here have been removed. Not only should they be returned, but there should be more installed.

Someone destroyed this planter. It's a total mess. Looks like who ever did it was on a mission to make the biggest mess possible.

  • 2-98 Hine Pl New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Bishop-Hine
Someone keeps moving these signs out of the road. The city should put in permanent dividers. The sort that both bump out into the road & the sort that give pedestrians a refuge while crossing the street.

There are large construction vehicles going the wrong way down Mechanic Street. This is a narrow one way street with lots of bicycle traffic. I understand that the new school needs to get built, but it should mean semi's going the wrong way down the street.
  • 1182 Chapel St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Dwight
There is only 1 bike rack on this corner, but it's right against a planter. Another rack or two would be great, but moving the planter would be a good start.

There is a tree with low hanging branches that makes it almost impossible for cyclist (and probably motorists) to see traffic coming north on Whitney Ave. This makes turning south onto Whitney more difficult than it already is.
  • Canner Street New Haven, CT - East Rock
In the past year or so the city of New Haven decided to put speed humps on Canner St and Edwards St., they are a danger to cyclists and cause undo wear & year to our bicycles. They should be removed to create safer streets for cyclists. Countless times I've been riding down the streets minding my own business only to be almost thrown from my bike when hitting these blights to our streets.
  • College Woods New Haven, CT - East Rock
The College Woods section of East Rock Park only has a handful of trash cans for use by the hundreds of daily visitors. If you visit the park on a Sunday the limited trash cans are literally overflowing with garbage. There also doesn't appear to be anywhere to recycle cans or bottles. People are constantly picnicking, grilling or enjoying hydration dependent activities with no place to properly dispose of their recyclables.
