  • 5900–5940 Chabot Crest Oakland 94618, United States - Rockridge
Large set of tree branches has fallen and is obstructing the road.
  • 6686 Chabot Rd Oakland 94618, United States - Upper Rockridge
Overgrown trees are obscuring school sign on westbound Chabot Road at Patton Ave (school crosswalk at Chabot Road). Driver just blew through at 30mph+ without slowing down.
  • West Cutting Blvd And Canal St Richmond - Richmond
The intersection light at Cutting Blvd and Canal Blvd does not turn green for cyclists heading west on Cutting Blvd and turning left (south) on Canal. I have waited through 3+ light cycles multiple times and ultimately been forced to proceed through the red light. This is a busy intersection that I commute through daily by bike.

  • Tunnel Rd Oakland, California - Oakland
The intersection at Tunnel Road, Highway 13, and Hiller Drive lacks a crosswalk, cutting off pedestrians from Rockridge to Hiller Highlands (with nearby Gateway Emergency Preparedness Exhibit Center and Caldecott Field). Pedestrians that would naturally walk here from nearby neighborhoods abruptly face a highway on/off ramp with blind curves and no safe or legal means to cross without walking 0.7 miles north to the crossing at Claremont hotel. In order to make this area accessible by foot, and the neighborhood safer and more livable, a crosswalk needs to be installed.
  • 5845 Patton St Oakland, California - Upper Rockridge
Motorists are frequently speeding in the 25 MPH school area on Chabot road to immediate east of Patton Street (i.e. perimeter of Chabot Elementary School). This school/residential area connects other neighborhoods to the freeway, and sees aggressive motorists especially during the evening and weekends, when children are playing. Would be helpful to explore traffic control solutions like more speed signs, radars with speed display, speed bumps, etc.
  • Emeryville Amtrak Station Emeryville, California - Emeryville

Howdy. I'm an Oakland resident with a new job that requires regular travel to Sacramento, and am heartbroken to learn that the Emeryville Amtrak station provides no secure bike parking. Since this is the closest train station to San Francisco, which I think of as the capital of US bike commuting, I thought I must be mistaken when I couldn't find anything on the web via Bike Link and 511, etc. So I just drove over to the station myself where I learned that, indeed, there is nothing there. The station needs secure bike storage! This is a high-value opportunity to promote bike friendly streets, get cars like mind off the road, and make the community stronger. Frankly, we need more secure bike storage all over—but we have got to start with transportation hubs like train stations. I intend be sharing this message more widely, and invite you to be in touch if I can be helpful with further testimony. I thank you greatly for your time and consideration.
