Turning left on the 440 on ramp towards I40 there are 2 traffic lights. The traffic light is far enough apart where approx 2-3 vehicles can fit between both lights without blocking the intersection. The light before turning on the on ramp only has a green left turn arrow for maybe 10 seconds and is active only for vehicles leaving the apartment complex. Can the green arrow cycle time be extended.

The left turn indicator on Gorman turning onto Thistledown Dr. has the ability to have a green left turn arrow. When not green it has the ability to blink yellow still allowing for vehicles to turn left. For some reason at certain times of the day the light remains a red left turn light even though it is green to go straight. The light seems like it was included for the specific purpose of allowing cars to turn left when no cars are coming in the other direction. It seems like the timing or some switch is off for it to go back to a red arrow instead of the blinking yellow light.

There are at least two large potholes on this Trailwood Drive. The first one is about 20 yards down Trailwood when turning right from Avent Ferry. The other one is further down Trailwood right next to the 40mph speed limit sign. They seem to be growing/getting deeper each week and could use a patch.

The intersection of Trailwood Dr and Lineberry has one of the most sensitive light changes. While traveling on Trailwood, you're lucky to have the light stay green for more than 10 seconds. If anyone at all is coming from Lineberry or towards Wolftech the light will begin to change before the car even reaches the intersection. And if someone is simply turning right the light changes but the car has already turned and drove off. More times than not the light just changes all of a sudden and no one is even there. The intersection changes too frequently and might as well be a four way stop with how often it turns red. Travel down the road a couple times of a day and its easy to see it.
  • 3500-3556 Tryon Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Southwest
At the intersection of Tryon Rd. and Trailwood Dr. it can be dangerous when trying to make a legal U-turn because the cars coming off of Trailwood wanting to turn right on Tryon do not typically yield to cars making the U-turns. The cars are turning right on red while the U-turn has the green light so its the U-turn drivers right of way correct? There is a small, poorly placed "yield to U-turn" sign for these cars coming off of Trailwood, but it would be better placed to make it more obvious than have it tucked away behind the wires holding up the traffic lights. Is it possible to put a sign post with this sign on the ground at the corner of Trailwood? Something that can better grab the attention of the drivers would be much appreciated.

I think it was last year that medians on Tryon Rd. were landscaped with sod, trees, and ornamental grasses, but it seems like this year theyre being neglected. Weeds are starting to pop up worse in some places then others. Im not sure if this is private or handled by the city, but Im just curious with the effort and money that must have been put into making the medians look amazing why they are all of sudden not being kept up.
  • 3945 Western Boulevard Raleigh, NC - West

The light allowing vehicles to cross Western Blvd. from Method Rd is too short especially around the 4-6pm timeframe. Vehicles can be waiting in the line after waiting several minutes for the light to change only to have it stay green for 10-15? seconds usually only allowing half of the cars to get through. The problem is even worse when vehicles turn right onto Western Blvd. because the turn is at a 90 degree angle so they have to slow down even more and also when there are CAT or Wolfline buses parked, picking passengers up, or going through the intersection. If the light had a sensor (if its capable of that) or just extended by 5-8 seconds it would solve the issue of having to wait at the light for an over extended amount of time and having vehicles speed up quickly sometimes dangerously knowing that its a short light.

A blinking yellow light to turn left would also be nice here and pretty much at most intersections like they have in Cary. Hopefully that is something Raleigh can look into because it doesnt make the intersections very efficient or smart.

  • Trailwood And Tryon Rd Raleigh, NC - Southwest
When making a u-turn on tryon at the trailwood/tryon intersection there is a sign that states "U-Turn Yield to Right Turn." When coming down Trailwood and turning right onto Tyron there is also a sign that states "Right Turn on Red MUST Yield to U-Turn." These signs contradict each other and is making that a very dangerous intersection. Who has the right of way or which sign should be followed?
