650am. Been listening to state wide tractor idle for 10 minutes now and continue repairs to their fleet. I'm sure this will last several hours. I'll keep you updated.

Isn't there truck lots that charge for this service in S. Kearny?

8:40 pm listening to state wide do fleet repairs to their trucks.

Where do I sign up to run my business for free?

State wide trucking is unofficially using this as their truck depot for the past week or so. Multiple (upwards of six at a time) tractors and trailers parking, idling, repairs and even washing their trucks here. Not to mention they consider the parking lot one giant garbage can for them to leave trash wherever.

It is clear the neighor who lives on Hoyt st and brings all of these trucks here has no consideration for quality of life or appearance of his neighborhood.

Can something be done about this once and for all, please? I am tired of calling PD and HRHC.

Nothing against the fire department, but apparently the city can't do anything about idling trucks,or the pig-sty-mess of a parking lot, but the town's fire department can come down here to run drills all night? Thanks Mr. Martello. I wouldn't care if the other issues were resolved, but it just feels like this end of the town is for second class citizens.

There are stop signs here that no one obeys and constantly creates a gridlocked situation at the intersection coming out of taco bell/Walmart/Wawa.

Everyone blows through the stop signs all day long.

Have posted in the past that this is a disgusting dumping grounds. Numerous tires, bags of garbage (or God knows what) and just tons of debris literally littered about. Makes my neighborhood look like a slum.

The photo is from a few weeks ago, but this is my daily experience at Seabras. Everyone parked on fire lane/sidewalk/handicap spots. Blocking the entrance. Blocking the exit. Just park\wait wherever you want.

Seriously, take up 3 handicap spots, a regular spot and the fire lane. You must have VERY important groceries to pickup.

Perhaps they could somehow be persuaded to use the parking lot instead of constantly creating a cluster right at the entrance.

Tons of commercial vans parked which create an area for seedy activity at night (drinking, drugs, vandalism and littering). Also, there's a gray Nissan Murano who brings their tractor trailers here to work on and idle all day. I have been calling and complaining for years. They've been summonsed before for idling by Hudson regional health commission.

It's a screen shot from Google maps street view, but I drive past it everyday and still see the graffiti.

    Thanks!

I have contacted and filed complaints with NJ DEP and successfully had summons issued for idling tractors in this lot. However, it is hit or miss and a longer procedure as their local office serves all of Hudson Co.

I tried for over a year to have KPD\Traffic issue summons and was ultimately told they cannot do anything since they are on private property. This is not the case at all, as I previously mentioned that HRHC (Hudson Regional Health Commision) have issued summons. I also spoke to the DEP Trenton office representative and he confirmed the idling laws apply to private property.

Unfortunately, one of the locals from the neighborhood thinks the vacant Wilkata parking lot is his own private truck rest stop. As a result, nearby residents have to endure listening to his tractors idling for literally days on end.

I can't tell you how lovely it is trying to enjoy some BBQ with the roar of a diesel Mac truck you have to shout over. Or not being able to watch TV at a reasonable volume. And then not being able to fall asleep at the end of the night because they're still idling.

Sorry for being so lengthy, but my request is to have KPD or traffic or whoever, brush up on the laws applicable and have them available to issue summons when necessary.

They only have to hear the truck idling for 3 minutes (a few other criteria requirements) and it's a $250 fine. $1000 for subsequent offenses (which it would be for one of the tractors).

    Thanks for your time!

Random pile of dirt sitting in a parking space. Neighbor says it was left by PSEG.
  • 297 Schuyler Ave Kearny, New Jersey - Kearny
3 street lights out. Just watched a car drive over the crosswalk/concrete island in the intersection for pedestrians at 25-30 mph. Someone could have been standing there waiting to cross. Not to mention safety of drivers.

This is overgrown every year and looks terrible. Also, there's is no sidewalk left to walk on.
  • 813-815 Newark Ave Jersey City, New Jersey - Journal Square

This is the garbagest four or five blocks of "roads" in the whole of the United States.

Cars can't drive faster than 5 or 10 mph without feeling like they're doing trail rated off-roading.

I'd rather drive on cobblestone or a dirt path.
