Museum Neighbor

  • 3514 West Cary Street Richmond, Virginia - Carytown
CVS at this location has yet to clear the sidewalk surrounding their store/parking lot. The snow/ice is very deep and dangerous. Please fine and ask for them to clear the sidewalk. Thank you
  • 3132 Ellwood Avenue Richmond, Virginia - The Museum District
A maroon/red Volvo 240 with a failed inspection sticker and flat tire has been abandoned and should to be towed. This vehicle was previously reported for expired tags, but was moved across the street and not ticketed. Please ticket/tow. Thank you.
  • Ellwood Avenue And Nansemond Ave Richmond, Virginia - Carytown

I am happy to see the city is replacing non ADA compliant crosswalk entry points throughout the Museum District; however, the ones at the intersection of Ellwood and Nansemond were not properly completed.

The handicap accessible ramps from the sidewalk into the crosswalk are not properly placed. According to the ADA, curb ramps and the flared sides of curb ramps shall be located so that they do not project into vehicular traffic lanes, parking spaces, or parking access aisles. This is is NOT the case for this intersection. Plus, I am unsure why this is the only intersection in the Museum District to not be properly modified as the other areas have the proper diagonal or corner type curb ramps. These particular ramps force pedestrians into the lane of moving traffic to cross, not the stopped traffic lane...very dangerous.

There is also a large hole at the NW corner of this intersection and this hole makes the crosswalk ramp useless to those in wheelchairs or with strollers. (this photo is in the comments section as I was only allowed one attached image)

Please correct this intersection and make it safe for pedestrians.

  • 3400 Floyd Avenue Richmond, Virginia - The Museum District
Floyd Avenue was repaved back in mid-December, but the city never came back to paint the lane markings. This causes confusion as to where the lanes are and drivers tend to drive in the middle of the road causing unsafe conditions.
  • 12 S Nansemond St Richmond, VA 23221, Richmond, Virginia - Carytown
This scooter/motorcycle has been on the sidewalk, locked to a support wire for the utility pole for over a month. It has no license plate and appears to be abandon - It needs to be ticketed/removed. Thank you
  • Sw Corner Of Ellwood And Nansemond Richmond, Virginia - Carytown
There has been an abandon motorbike/scooter/motorcycle attached to a city parking sign at the SE corner of Ellwood and Nansemond for over a week. 1 – it shouldn’t be attached to a city sign, it should be properly parked. 2 – it hasn’t moved for a week. Please ticket and/or remove. It is prohibiting residents from mowing and taking care of property.
    Many thanks!
  • 3436 Ellwood Richmond, Virginia - The Museum District

A street sign hanging from the traffic light wires/cables fell during a recent storm and is on the ground at the NE corner of Ellwood and Nansemond. It needs to be rehung.

    Thank you

  • 3436 Ellwood Avenue Richmond, Virginia - The Museum District
Please pick up the detour sign on Ellwood at Nansemond that remains from earlier construction on Crenshaw. It is no longer needed and occupies a parking space…plus it blocks the view of pedestrians crossing Nansemond. Thank you!
  • 3436 Ellwood Avenue Richmond, Virginia - The Museum District
Students who live behind us discarded an old sofa along our back fence. Could someone please pick it up for disposal? Thank you.
  • 3433 Floyd Avenue Richmond, Virginia - The Museum District
The home at 3433 Floyd is not mowing the grassy area between the sidewalk along their home and Nansemond. The weeds/grass in this area is now roughly 18 inches tall. It is an eyesore to the neighborhood. The owners have also been leaving refuse in this area...TVs, twin bed, garden hose, etc. I believe the city already picked up these items. I would like the owner to be ticketed for not mowing. Thank you.
  • 3432 Ellwood Ave Richmond, VA - The Museum District
There is a dead tree located roughly in front of 3432 Ellwood Avenue. This tree appears dead or mostly dead and loses branches during storms. The tree should be removed and replaced before it comes down fully causing damage. Thank you.
  • 3100-3200 Blocks Of Ellwood Avenue Richmond, VA - The Museum District
The apartments on these two blocks have either recycling bins or trash cans left on the grassy area between the sidewalk and street. They are left out either all the time or well before/after the pickup time. Since there is now going to be enforcement of this, please ticket these people. It clutters up the sidewalks and makes the neighborhood look awful!
  • Alley repair Archived
3436 Ellwood Avenue - Alley Behind This Block between Ellwood and Floyd), Richmond, VA - The Museum District
The alley (entered off of Nansemond) has numerous potholes and is missing gravel. This causes vehicles to bottom out and a muddy mess when raining. I would like to request the alley be scraped/leveled and graveled.

A man at this location has a yard sale every Saturday. He spills his items onto the public sidewalk and sits in the road with a sign trying to get people to stop. This has become a business/street vendor, not a yard sale.
