  • 4200-4214 Lassiter Mill Rd Raleigh Nc 27609 Usa - Six Forks Corridor
On Lassiter Mill Road at the North Hills Shopping Center entrance, a traffic island had 'No U Turn' signs on both ends. An accident on the southwestern-most end took down that entire sign post. The signs were replaced, BUT the No U Turn sign was not reinstalled and remains missing. Traffic is now making unsafe U-Turns there causing a hazardous situation.

  • 4214 Lassiter Mill Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Six Forks Corridor

Traffic exiting North Hills SC on to Lassiter Mill Rd. next to the Ethan Allen store turns right (north), but traffic wishing to go south on Lassiter make an immediate U-Turn at a very congested shopping entrance. Suggest that No U-turns be allowed here.

Note the same problem existed but was remedied for south bound Lassiter Mill for traffic wanting to enter the shopping area. They made a left hand U-Turn at the end of the island causing accidents. This was fixed with a No U-Turn sign at that end of the island. This suggestion is to treat the north end of the island the same way and eliminate U-turns at both ends.

  • 104 Edenton St Raleigh, North Carolina - North Central
The large parking lot at the corner of Wilmington and Edenton Streets needs better Handicap access onto the sidewalk to get to the museum area. After unloading in the parking lot, it is not clear where the access ramps are, or even that there are concrete barriers blocking access to the sidewalk. Once discovering there is no access at the corner, you must experiment. You can either try east along Edenton Street a few hundred feet to a ramp and then backtrack, or worse, you can try traveling north along Wilmington Street and make a left U Turn into the parking lot access traffic lane (!) Note from the picture that the sidewalk itself is nicely ramped, but access to those ramps is difficult to use.
  • 119 W Drewry Lane Raleigh, NC - Six Forks
An infrastructure project on Drewry Lane has dragged on entirely too long. The only way around the street obstruction is a detour that re-routes traffic onto Six Forks Road at intersections without stoplights. An alternative might be Ramblewood, but Ramblewood is often down to one lane because of construction on a huge new development. The neighbors were told that the Drewry Lane project would be completed before the end of 2012. It is now February 4. If this project was undertaken by the city, it should be prioritized. If it is a project undertaken by a private contractor, it is time to impose penalties. There seems to be no activity there at all. When can we expect an update on the status and completion date? We are totally in the dark.
